Fùck Scùnthorpe.
They've just joined MK in the exclusive list of clubs that I would like to see go out of business.
7 teenagers. An 18 year old captain. A 17 year old keeper making his debut. A 2nd year scholar making his debut. An average age of 19.
An utterly immoral team selection that completely undermines the integrity of the league. Fair play to Bristol, they can only beat what's put in front of them, they should just never have been afforded that opportunity.

Impossible to fix a 7-0 scoreline, but not impossible to fix a pitch invasion with minutes left allowing them the opportunity to know how many more goals they needed to go up once our game finished. EFL need to look into it.

But you know what the league will do about it, no matter how fishy or against the rules it was............. Fůck all.😡

I'm not suggesting anything untoward on Bristol's part. I'm just seething at Sc***horpe's team selection. I genuinely can't remember being this angry after a game before. Yes, our game management was questionable, but a 3-1 win should have been enough, and almost certainly would have been if Sc***horpe hadn't fielded a team of children.

Completely agree, and what a kick in the teeth for the Scu n thorpe fans that went to the match. There was an article in the Chron from Hill saying his team would not roll over, yeah right.

When they auction off Sc***horpe's ground, I hope it's developed into a sewerage farm.

Agree completely. I'm sure there's nothing explicitly illegal going on, but I don't think it's too hyperbolic to state that with that team selection Keith Hill has undermined the integrity of the competition and has disrespected our football club (and Mansfield and Port Vale for that matter).
There is an unwritten code of sportsmanship and fair play which has been violated with that selection.

Absolutely agree, but unless they've broken a rule which prevents them from doing that, there's fcuk all we can do, unfortunately. And as Shomender says if the EFL look into the pitch invasion, that's all they'll do.

Exactly, Rovers were handed that result on a plate

Sc***hrope have been playing their kids for a few games though, most of the team who started the game also played Hartlepool the game before. I don't think it's any good for us to mentally take a victim mentality and blame other teams and other people, we were found an inch short over a 42 game season. You could sit here an obsess with any single goal chance we missed and goal we conceded if you want as well, but I don't think it'll do you any good.
We all know what we're good at, and what we're not good at. Would this team be able to do much in League 1? IMO, no, though it would have been nice to play better teams next year. Has Brady done enough to get another go next year - yes, but it's going to be tough with a few key players out of contract, and with a year under the helm I'll be interested to see what he can pull out of the hat.

Maybe we should have beat Sc***horpe at their place. Its not about one day, its 46 games, how many times earlier in the season were we conceding late equalisers or losing in the last minute. With a rub of the green, we could have been league winners..Its football, unpredictable ..

I don't understand this 'we wouldn't do well in League 1' business. Surely we can hold our own against the likes of Fleetwood, Morecambe, Shrewsbury, Lincoln, Cheltenham, Burton, Cambridge, and Accrington, + the other 3 promoted teams this year. Also last time we were in L1 we drew both games with Sunderland, won one and drew one against Ipswich and beat both Wigan and Portsmouth in one game.
The team we have now is in my opinion much better than the one that played in L1 two years ago and with the right additions I believe we can finish mid table.

Five weeks or so ago I would have agreed with you. Our defence has always looked League One quality, but our attacking unit was struggling to score open play goals in League Two and was looking a long way away from League One quality. However, in the last five weeks things have really 'clicked' from an attacking point of view. Appere has looked like a lower-league Harry Kane, dropping deep and playing people in with cute lay-offs and Eppiah has emerged as an excellent wide forward with the pace to really trouble defences. We've been scoring plenty of goals from open play and have looked really decent. I'd say we've looked like a team with genuine League One potential in the last four matches, which is why today has been such a sickener.

I really dislike Sc***horpe, I dont like the ground, I dont like the area, no decent pub stops either. But to blame them for what just happened is absurd. Brizzle were always going to go for it. Blame the second half change of formation, and questionable subs. To sit back in the second half, is naive to say the least. I think Calderwood may have an influence in that. So, on to Mansfield. I dont like that place either.

Only hope is that BR have point(s) deducted for pitch invasion! Pretty slender one though!

I think that the only times in recent years that there have been points deducted from an invasion were suspended until a future season.

Lol I’m just watching the BR goals… a lot of them you’d expect to be saved by a normal keeper.

And if my auntie had bollocks she'd be my uncle... yes, of course it ultimately comes down to the entire season and if we'd done better over the course of that we'd be up already, but literally every team could say the same - even Sc***horpe! The fact of the matter is we all went into the last game knowing what the situation was and what we all needed to do to secure promotion. No quarter asked or given. All you should be able to expect is a level playing field. We played Barrow's men's team and won 3-1. Bristol played pretty much Sc***horpe's youth team and won 7-0. Would they have beaten their full team by that margin? Who knows, but the fact their previous meeting with Rovers this season was a narrow 3-2 defeat for Scunny suggests it would have been a much tighter affair. And that's on Hill.
