The home leg may well depend on Saturday. If we get by 3 goals they’ll be giving tickets away. Hopefully a tight game with a draw or one goal defeat max and then we have every chance. We’d obviously love a win in the first game but may set us up on the back foot which rarely ends well. Unless we win 5 nil and then we can have a party, although probably be 4 nil down with 5 minutes to go!

That final performance against Exeter was a proper rarity.

GPC and west stand oap usually provide an excellent introduction to the game - a preview. I'm sure you knew this anyway.

Agreed but when does the insightful debate come in to it? It's always how bad Hoskins and Rose are and how our other strikers can't score.

This thread appears to require a different heading - something like Mansfield Play off Ticket Allocations (Home and Away Ends) Field Mill & Sixfields. I was expecting debate and analysis associated with the actual match next Saturday evening at Mansfield's ground. I was disappointed.

At this point my biggest concern is getting a ticket, not who the armchair team selectors want to put in goal. I still don't know what my chances are of getting a ticket , so I am also disappointed.

2013, semi final against Cheltenham, attendance 6,563
2005, semi final against Southend, attendance 6,601
2004, semi final against Mansfield, attendance 6,960
1998, semi final against Bristol Rovers, attendance 7,501
1997, semi final against Cardiff City, attendance 7,302

Only one of the five semi-finals sold out......I don't expect this one too either.

Sky Sports coverage doesn't help. Some may prefer to watch it on TV instead of paying out £22 to be at the match.

Another embarrassing  argument this one. If we got offered 950 tickets for Mansfield away, some fans would be up in arms, why so few ? Why arent they being fair ? They shouldnt be allowed to keep them for home fans.
Give Mansfield the correct allocation for our home game, its not fair!! we have given them too many!!! we should keep them for home fans, you cant make it up sometimes.

The good news is that each of the play off clubs are the better supported teams in L2 so the net revenue paid to each club will be that much higher. Each club receives 1/4th of half the total net revenue from the semi finals. The other half goes into a pool controlled by the Football League. Kelvin and David will want to put these monies back into the player budget for next season (I feel sure).

Anyone without a ticket or Sky the cheapest option is NOW TV package - about £11 for 24 hour or there is currently an offer on at £20 for a month

Just cheering on Wycombe in a half empty stadium MK but they still only gave Wycombe 2000 tickets who wanted double - strange how a club can turn down circa £50 grand when there are plenty of seats available.

They've also separated them by a significant seating gap, in order to reduce their impact.

I think we will struggle to sell our away allocation due to the time of the match and it being live on Sky Sports. I'm not going to go, but went to all the other play-off semi-finals. The home leg may sell out if we don't have a big defecit from the first leg, but night matches aren't the fullest usually.

These days I go with my 12 year old lad. He was crying at the end of yesterdays game, its a tough one trying to give your kid the attention he needs in those moments when I needed the same attention myself!!  Grin

Anyway, ref Mansfield. Given it being A Saturday night and the kick off time, fans will be half or pretty full cut, the fixture has the potential for trouble I think. Cant do the train so its bus or car. Mansfield is a sh1t hole and I've just spent this weekend in the biggest sh1t hole of them all.  Plus its forecasted to be a lovely day. A few of us are going to enjoy a barbecue and a 'Cobblers evening in the garden/living room' and watch it on Skysports.

I also went to Mansfield earlier this season and that was enough for this year!  Grin

I hope we sell out the allocation but Id be a little surprised if we do. I think we will easily sell out the home game though....

I can’t believe that people are even contemplating not going to Mansfield. Yes, there’s every chance they’ll turn us over and it will be miserable. But just imagine how completely satisfying it would be if we did a bit of a job on them at their place..

C'mon guys. Don’t abandon them now.

My partners delivering the latest Cobblers fan and the due date is May 19th. I didn’t go to Barrow as that was far too risky to travel to in case of an early delivery.

Saturday is well and truly in the danger zone, but I’m buying a ticket and will be travelling up on the day if there’s no sign of the little guy.

I’m totally with you Nigel, this is the play offs and we are the form side. If people can get there, get there. We need that stand sold out and to be vocal.

We've not done too well with the dates of our games.....

The 1st Leg is on Saturday a couple of hours after the FA Cup Final, the second leg clashes with the Europa League Final, and the playoff final itself is a couple of hours before the Champions League final.

What is this bigging up of the awful Mansfield experience, being touted as a reason not to attend. We've been and are still going to worse places. They have a few mouthy fcukers and even more wannabes, but fcuk em. Get there and make noise, not excuses. It’s a hugely important game. Massive….. Get behind the lads.

How about a theme for this game.. Something like the JJ O'Toole one we did. What could possibly go wrong… Ahem

Seriously though guys. Fcuking Sky sports 🙄🙄 Get your @rses there.
