I'm not going to the away leg, which will be the first playoff match of ours that I've ever missed (outside of covid, obviously) Nothing to do with the place (although it is a shìthole, I'll grant you) but because my dad is wary of going anywhere where he isn't sure how many steps he'll have to go up these days and decided he'd rather watch it on the telly, so I'm going around to his so he doesn't have to watch it on his own. If the two legs were the other way around, I think I'd still be going though - 2nd legs are where all the drama takes place!
We'll cross the access problems bridge again as and when we get to Wembley...

Anyone know where we collect tickets from? Assume we will be able to at Mansfield Just got my two by phoning, answered really quickly, so still had a mouth full of sandwich. Can pick them up at Mansfield. They always take them to the away ground if uncollected. Have done it this way every time for years.

Just picked my tickets up this morning 11:30. They had 900 left yesterday when they went on general sale now they reckon about 200 left. Noone queueing though 3-4 turned up while they were looking for my tickets. They said they reckoned they will sell the rest today.

Mansfield away is one of our worst away records, in 37 visits we have only 4 wins with 8 draws and 25 defeats and a staggering goal difference of 28 scored 71 conceded. When we lost there at the start of April they set a new club record of 11 consecutive home wins by beating us 1-0 and we had Roberts to thank for keeping the score down in what was not a very impressive performance. We had players missing that game as well with Koiki and McWilliams out and Appere starting on the bench, Mills, Lubala and Zimba were all in the starting 11. Again we will have players missing as according to Boot and Shoe McGowan won't be fit and we have other injury issues and Roberts is suspended. Only Tranmere have more home points than Mansfield whose record is won 15, drawn 4 and lost 4, goals 40-28. So 49 of their 77 points have been gained at home opposed to 28 away. After beating us they then lost 2-3 to Sutton, beat Crawley and Stevenage 2-0 and last week drew 2-2 with FGR. They have only failed to score twice in the 23 games and have scored in all of the last 16, in fact in the last 12 they have scored at least 2 except against us. Mansfield tend to play a back 4 with a diamond 4 in mid field. Against FGR their back 4 consisted of Perch (36), O'Toole (33), 6'6" Hawkins (30) and McLaughlin (31) so there does not appear to be much pace there which is something I see that their supporters say the team lacks. The pace of Eppiah and Hoskins could have some joy against that defence. However, will JB revert to 3 centre backs and have Hoskins at wing back for the away leg? As other posters have mentioned Anthony Backhouse is the referee who also had the league game when he sent Lewis off for 2 yellows in 10 seconds. We also had him in September for our 2-2 draw at Salford and in 31 games he has issued 108 yellows and 4 reds. We have our tickets, have a parking space booked but travel more in hope than expectation. Given their home record, our awful record there and players missing a win seems unlikely but if can avoid a disaster we are capable of securing a final place over the 2 legs.

Give me a nudge so we can press the flesh... From someone who answers to the sobriquet "rim", this is full of innuendos!

Genuine question as I don’t know.
Did they have to queue or could they do that online? For me I think they need to get them online by Wednesday latest. It’s 2022.
Dan in the notable absence of Sir Robert are you able to lead/conduct the support as in days of yore?

Brackley playing York City at 3.00pm on the 14th as well in the first of their playoffs. I wonder if anyone will be attempting to get to both ours and theirs.

1 hr 55 minutes by road according to the web but that's excluding getting to your car from the earlier match and getting out of your car at the other end and getting to the match. I'm also presuming no need for extra time in Brackley's match. I suppose you'd be okay if you had a willing driver who wasn't bothered about attending either game (drop/pick up those who do as close to the grounds as can be done in a timely fashion. Not for me. One live match in a day is enough.

So we've got the same referee for the same fixture on 2nd April. The game he sent off Paul Lewis. Strange appointment.
That's a worry. While we were dreadful that day and fully deserved to lose, the referee fell for every Mansfield trick in the book.

Some serious questions over who on earth is going to fill the gaps for the remainder of the games . I don’t think it’s going to be pretty .

Debating it, but a bit close to manage it. Was hoping they would move it to Sunday, an option which apparently was on the table as it clashes with the FA Cup Final.

Mansfield also not sold all of their tickets for Saturday, lots of problems trying to buy them online.
The difference between the league game and this game is that when we played them in the league we were in poor form having only won 3 of our last 8 games and scoring very few goals. We are now unbeaten in 6 and scoring more regularly.

Anybody know how much we get per game from Sky televising the games?.
I think it is a bit much for the EFL to take 50% from the 4 play off semis and leave each of the 4 clubs with a 12.5% share of the pooled money from the 4 games.

Well it doesn't sound great. Jon Brady however gives the impression only McGowan is unfit, but I suppose he would.
