Unless the person that mows the pitch can’t drive straight it was surely offside.

Not only that but they’re solely focusing on the ‘foul’ on Guthrie at the end. Yes he went down easily, however what about all of the missed penalties from Guthrie and Horsfall getting pulled down in the box.
Plus the fact that their goal was clearly offside.

Could do with some good luck after last weekend!!

Agreed! Could hear you all from all the way back here.
From what I could hear via Sky, it was all Cobblers noise. You certainly drowned out Mansfield.

Pretty much only singles left for the return. Should be a cracking atmosphere if we start off on the front foot.

If Cobblers Fans motivated a team it was tonight. From a first half full of mis-placed passes and a system not working to a good second half performance. My turning point was Maxteds early second half save and galvanised by thr appearance of Eppiah. Mansfield became jittery and more some when Rose came on. Very glad we scored to make a game of it second leg. That support, with various supporters urging the fans on from a conductors position!

It was a real pity about Roberts. The more you watch it that first goal was woeful. No way someone should be scoring from that position.
Hoping Appere is fit for Wednesday.

I'll be honest, I didn't fancy our chances due to our dire record at Field Mill but tonight I thought we were the better team throughout. The first goal was well offside and it was poor defending for the second but we were still the better team  and Ali's goal was the least we deserved. With Roberts back we can beat these Black Leg Scummers and send them back to their sh*thole of a place they live in.
Time for us to have a decision go our way against Mansfield in the play off's

Should never have been anyway.... well offside, not sure what the lino was on, think he must have been fooled as he checked his run after the ball was played. That said, easy to see with benefit of replays but even first time round in real time I called it offside

But yeah, shouldn't be going through a keepers legs from that far out. Second wasn't much better tbh, why he went with his feet I've no idea but if you're going to it needs to be a bigger boot than that...

Good performances all over the pitch, difficult to pick a stand out really. We are way too good for them. Typically they are half the side away from home, so as long as we put in a performance then they haven’t got a chance. If we go awol then we don’t deserve to go to Wembley anyway.

I wouldn’t give Maxted to much stick for the first goal - remember Roberts conceded one like that not too long ago and overall he seemed fairly assured (although I’d still bring Roberts back for the second game) I agree probably marginally offside but those are missed all season and we have benefited from a few.
I thought we were terrible in the first half but second half a completely different team and unlucky not to finish with at least one more goal. Mansfield agricultural defending of corners has to be controlled by a tougher ref - at least two good shouts for a pen and one he gave the other way. Interesting some papers gave Kolki MOM and whilst I don’t deny his contribution with the goal his far post marking (or lack of it) assisted their goals. Everything still to play for and I think we are in the ascendancy for the second leg.

Totally agree, although I thought Mansfield were not 2 goals better in the first half but we were 2 goals better in the 2nd half (especially if given the WWF penalty!!).

Much better second half. They were fortunate with both goals but felt they could have got 3-4 in the first half to put it out of site.
Keepers shouldn’t be beaten at their near post or through their legs but he hit it well so think too much criticism is harsh. But Roberts brings confidence to fans and players that Maxted doesn’t.
We could have had a few more fouls but equally we got away with a couple late on.
Sets up Wednesday well now. Both teams have to play positively so should be a good game hopefully.

Proud of the team and the support last night . We are clearly struggling with players carrying injuries , forcing system changes but we simply have to play 2 up front and 4 at the back .
Appere on his own just doesn’t work .
Feared the worst at 2.0 down but we showed real character to come back inspired by great support .
Don’t be too harsh on Maxted , i thought he did well overall .
Mills was weak again and Kanu is not bad going forward but a liability defensively .
All to play for

Well done Ref for allowing the play to continue. Excellent Appere and Koiki.

100% this. I hope TV comms picked up on it - in the ground I was just waiting for the whistle, and the move to be killed!
