I got a response to my email from the EFL yesterday. It's pretty much standard brush off stuff
but I didn't really expect a reply at all, to be honest!

Thank you for your email, we acknowledge your views on this matter.

Generally speaking the EFL monitors all Clubs at all times in respect of compliance with its regulations.

This includes member Clubs’ use of their playing squads. In relation to team selection Clubs are permitted to utilise any player(s) that are registered to play as part of their squad in accordance with EFL requirements.

Whilst we cannot comment on specific contractual player matters, all Clubs must adhere to specific arrangements and rules relating to player registrations. More broadly, member Clubs themselves are also permitted to raise any matter linked to regulations, as it is they who ultimately vote and determine the rules in place.

We will pass your feedback on to relevant staff here for their information and thank you for contacting the EFL

Kindest regards.

At least you received a response. Well done.
Probably very similar to the response that the club would have received following their own 'observations'.  Wink

Good for you taking the trouble to write - I did the same and had a similar but differently worded reply (Which implies they do actually read and address individual letters). Probably like you I had absolutely no hope of anything changing but at least it flags the issues. I don't think corruption would ever be proved (if indeed there was any) but it's absolutely obvious that Keith Hill compromised the integrity of decent and expected sportsmanship.

Exactly that. What's done is done, but I genuinely think the rules need looking at so things like this don't happen to other clubs in future. If enough people make this point to the EFL maybe it will strike a chord, after all, they are sports fans too.

Could you imagine the uproar if Wolves thought "oh, f*** it, our season's over" and sent their youth team to Anfield this weekend?

These are the rules below, and I can't see as they were adhered to. So probably a slap on the wrist for Scunny farther down the line:

EFL REGULATIONS 2021/22

SECTION 5

24 Requirement to Play Full Strength Sides in League Matches
24.1 Each Club shall play its full strength in all Matches played under the auspices of The League
unless some satisfactory reason is given. In the event of the explanation not being deemed
satisfactory the Board shall refer the matter to a Disciplinary Commission which has the power
to impose such penalties as it shall think fit.
Guidance:
From the fourth Thursday in March, any team sheet for a League game should include at least
10 outfield players who featured on the team sheet for the League game before.
