In this day and age the concept of a royal family is just embarrassing and should be left in the left in the past along with living in caves. Couldn’t care less about any financial implications for better or worse but people being born into positions through lineage is just offensive to a modern society.

I am pro monarchy, we have something that other countries can only dream of.
However, I did chuckle at the "prince andrew is a sweaty nonce" banner at Glasto.  Grin

A classic tune!

The sweaty nonce must be sweating a bit more, after Ghislaine Maxwells prison sentence, and his friendship with Jeffery Epstein. I am still pro monarchy, but I dont think that randy andy will be using his passport anytime soon.

Complete sense, you would be a nutter not to agree.

Otherwise we would have got Alan Carr in as manager and that not have been so successful.

Sir David Attenborough. I understand it may not be a long term appointment.

When Attenborough was Director of Programmes at the BBC in the early Seventies Jimmy Savile was doing his worst.

‘Yes, you’re right,’ he admits immediately. ‘These things were happening while I was there.

‘You could easily say the same thing about the Pope and the Catholic Church. Everyone says, “this dreadful scandal at the BBC”.

'If it were just happening in BBC studios, this interfering with young children, then there would be an argument. But everybody knows it was rampant at pop concerts, they were absolutely soaked in that kind of thing, that was the way things operated in those days.

‘I’m not excusing the BBC but it’s a much better story if a clergyman is found to be sinful than a playboy.’

That, for me, counts him out.

Gary Lineker springs to mind, but the partisan nature of football would rule that out for the Scots and Welsh. Sooner or later, the Scots and Northern Irish will be leaving the Union, so he would be less unpopular then.

Aren't H M C&E still chasing him for tax arrears ?

I remember watching an episode of TOTP2 being presented by DLT. When announcing the next act amongst a throng of young ladies, (look at me Im on telly) his hands were everywhere. Theres being blatant, next level is doing it on camera. Then he wondered why he was arrested.

The obvious choices are Johnny Vegas or John Cooper-Clarke. John Lydon has already been mentioned, and his mate John Ritchie is no longer with us. John Craven maybe.

If Charles and William die as well and Harry takes the throne at least we would have a monarch with two English parents.

I think my vote as successor as Head of State - not monarch, is Sir Chris Hoy.

I feel he could unite the whole country.
