2-0 up at half time against Belgium. Been a good game so far.
One question. When did the rule change that a goal kick has to leave the penalty area before it is touch by the receiving player. At one point a Belgian full back took the goal kick directly back to the keeper who picked it up, which to me is wrong on two points.

Been a rule for several seasons regarding the goal kick not having to leave the area hence why so many times now play out from the back.  Nothing wrong with passing to the goalkeeper but it's a backpass if deliberate and the keeper picks it up.

It was deliberate and the keeper picked it up.

Has anyone actually noticed that the women's world cup is going on at the moment or does anyone actually care? I shall be watching the Lioness's games.

Third favourites for the win if you want somewhere to put your £1.
I’m sure interest will build as the tournament goes on. Some of the kick off times won’t help viewing figures.

If the men beat Haiti 1-0 there would be calls for mass changes.

Carrying an unfit and slow CB, sounds familiar to the men's team.
Missing Leah Williamson big time.

Am pretty sure I read in the Guardian that it appears there is a lot of ACL/PCL injuries occurring in Women's and senior Girls Football. It went onto mention that female physique not generally suitable for amateur/professional football with the stress caused by too much competitive football. Bit of a problem in men's football as well. Perhaps Women's football should be non contact game?

Another win, but still not an awe inspiring performance.

When my daughter played she injured her ACL and we were told that women's thigh muscles don't give as much support as men's. Because of this a greater strain is placed on the knee joint even when simply kicking a ball.

That was like watching a different team. Cracking performance albeit with a few silly mistakes.
