Does anyone else find peoples accents from that part of the world Crewe, Stoke , Derby irritating?

Crewe is one of my favourite away days - apart from the hideous over capacity South Stand its a good old fashioned town and football club although I'd caution anyone trying to find the town centre for alternate hostelries from those near the ground - a 2 mile walk and there is absolutely nothing.

Never a good idea to vent ones political stance on a football forum. If they are a Cobblers fan so be it as it takes all types. What I can't quite grasp is the way some politicos go out to promote their views. Dear old Peter Frost is a gem living in Switzerland and having similar views to you. Yet Sing(apore)Cobbler is a complete opposite so for me it is live and let live.

French part, but dislike champagne- and not really a socialist but simply despise the current ruling incumbents in Westminster together with the blindingly obvious conclusion Brexit was crass folly - Evers is right though to a degree in best to keep politics out but always difficult not to respond when the subject is raised isn’t it?

£25! I was considering going, but blinking flip mother, that's a bit steep. I'm off to see Basle (in German speaking Switzerland) in some sort of European competition tonight for a bit under £9.

See how I managed to get the thread back on topic before sabotaging it again. Tempted to go down the Brexit route again with even more examples I keep seeing of how we are worse off with it, but don't want to upset Evers at this time of goodwill to all. 😉

Is there a rail strike on the 20th?
Yes. But the knock on effect of the one on the 18th, will mean that trains are out of position, and not where they should be.
During the prolonged Southern Rail dispute, you could see freight trains leaving Purley loaded with stone, and a Southern train getting a tow on the back, just to get them closer to scheduled departure points.

I'm not so familiar with the west (Swiss German is a really difficult language although English rather than French is often their second language) - Zurich, I do know which is a great city though - all of which nothing to do with Crewe and the rail strikes  Smiley
