Heneghan has confirmed it is 3-5-2 with Haynes as LCB and Odimayo RWB. Seems a strange one as I’m not sure Haynes is renowned as playing that position.

Would assume its a back 5, perhaps with Haynes at CB and Odimayo at RWB.
Maybe pinnock behind Appere and Hylton?
Hopefully not big injury issues for those not involved today such as Bowie, Lintott and Fox etc.
I wonder how much of his starting XI Brady has in his mind.

Lintott’s a substitute so I assume he’s fine - Fox and Bowie must be fitness related. It does show that with a couple of injuries we start to look pretty light on the bench.

Someone on Twitter has pointed out that Haynes has played about 400 minutes at LCB in his career - must be why we’re supposedly after Magloire which would give us natural CB’s to play the formation. I’m not sure how thrilled I am that we’re playing round pegs in square holes at this stage of pre season.

I just never understand playing players out of position - especially when we have six centre-backs and Dyche is just sitting there on the bench. Alternatively, play a formation where everyone will be in their position. I have every faith in Jon and Colin, but every now and then they'll just do a random player selection out of nowhere that just baffles me.

It's pre-season I guess though, if you're going to try people in new places and see if they can deal with it, now is the time to do so.

That's true I guess, but I'm less inclined to agree with that approach when it's the one position where we have ample numbers. I think giving Dyche some game time there would be far more beneficial in the long run.

It’s a friendly so as a manager he can try players in different positions. That’s how Bowen found Everett and Large! Keep looking JB/CC! Ps agree we should use Dyche more!!

I can see the theory behind playing Haynes on the left of a three as he is comfortable on the ball and can bring the ball out but I’d be more comfortable at having an actual Centre Back in there.

Your sources were correct...the second goal went in just before half time. Finished 2-0, Cobblers had two shots on target in what the hosts official report called a comfortable victory. Triallist one got on the pitch after 74 minutes replacing Appere, triallist two didn't come off the bench. Attendance 781 including 109 travelling Cobblers.

In the last 8 days against higher opposition it is played 3, lost 3, scored 1, conceded 7, so still appear to be suffering a lack of creativity and goal scoring. We were unbeaten in Scotland so we should apply to play in their premiership. From todays line up JB seems to be going with 3 central defenders and wing backs which may be a good idea playing away but at home I would prefer us to an extra attacker in place of one of the defenders.
