Thought this fella deserved a mention. I can remember him from my (very younger days) he was a decent full back/wing half back in the day. RIP John, condolences to his family.

He played in goal at Tottenham in Division 1 , when our goalie was injured, no subs in those days. The only goal he conceded was Jimmy Greaves penalty in a 1 - 1 draw.  R.I.P. John.

Well done Grumpy - good reminder, he was useful full back and I think he scored the winner at Villa. Was at that Tottenham  game, very harsh penalty which denied us a vital win. At that Tottenham game can remember the great John Kurila out tackling Dave McKay. Used to see Kurila in Morrisons Kett rd and always reminded him of that game.

Yep, I was there for the Division 1 season. Went to away games at, West Ham, Spurs, Chelsea and Aston Villa - there may have been others , it's been a long time. I saw most of the home games and I even turned up for the postponed game against Leeds which we eventually won 2 - 1.
