The Chairman at the time was a desperate man at that point and would have cashed in on their offer. Selling him to Newcastle gave him a bit of further respite with the fan base.

vividly recall most on here said at the time that we'd done very well out of the deal £, and that Toney wasn't very good!  If I could be assed to find a thread I would, just for amusement purposes. That said, we all get most things wrong in football which is why the average manager lasts about 12 months! |
