That simply shows why Appere should be nowhere near the starting 11.
Great result in the end.

Excellent win against a strong, physical team. Nothing went right in the first half and the whole team looked slow and lethargic, but credit to JB and the management staff. They made the right changes at half-time. Hylton was excellent in terms of getting in the defence's face and Bowie provided fresh energy. That seemed to be enough to bring the whole team to life and we scored at crucial moments. Pinnock, after an invisible first half, supplied 3 fanatstic crosses in the second half and looked a different player. In the second half we never really looked like conceding. Hard-fought and well-deserved win in the end. UTC!

Barrow losing to Leyton Orient presently, keeping us in 2nd.
Neither Cook or Gordon scoring yet in the golden boot race.

First-half performance was probably the poorest of the season so far. Everyone looked miles off the pace and I was calling for Koiki, Pinnock and Appere to be hooked at half-time.
Whatever Brady said (but more importantly did) at half-time made a massive difference. Hylton completely changed the dynamic of the game and suddenly we weren’t so easy to play against. He made life difficult for Horsfall and generally changed us into a side with more bite.
23 points from the first ten games is a superb return but next month will show us what this team is really made of. If we can take five or six points from Swindon, Orient and Stevenage away I’ll be delighted!

Maybe they didn't have a plan of how to play against Hylton as they assumed he was out injured

I wonder how many thought at half time that we would go on to win today. Stockport deserved their half time lead as apart from Pinnock's long throws we offered little else attack wise and Stockport really never looked like scoring again, Burge was not called upon to make a save of any note. I also said at half time that Stockport did not look great defensively. Bringing on Bowie and Hylton gave us an aerial presence up top which had been lacking. It's good job Pinnock was not subbed at half time as some wanted as he proceeded to provide some telling balls into the box including the second goal from our only corner of the game. I am not sure what game the person was watching who game Sam the man of the match award as he was anonymous in the first half, but it was a fine strike for his goal. As one of the bookies pre season favourites for promotion Stockport on todays performance I think the only way they will get out this division this season will be back to the National League. They looked weak defensively and did not carry much of a goal threat but there are other teams who will finish below them.

The first half was absolutely shocking with not one of our players really at the races. Appere was completely isolated with a massive gap between him and the nearest teammate. The centre backs had him in their pocket and the rest of the team looked bereft of ideas.
If you'd offered me a point at halftime I'd have taken your hand off!
Brady did a great job at the break though. He seems to have a knack for identifying problems and resolving them. The two subs and the more advanced layout of the team did just the job and we looked decent in the second half and well worth the win. The last 10 minutes were a masterclass of the dark arts!
I don't know if anyone else saw this but there was an hilarious moment at the front of the West stand in the dying minutes. The ball went into the crowd and a young lad dashed forward, grabbed the ball and threw it back to Hylton. Instead of catching it he let it bounce off his chest and back to the kid and then began gesturing to him to throw the ball back into the crowd!

Maybe they didn't have a plan of how to play against Hylton as they assumed he was out injured I’ve been thinking all week if we could stick Hylton on Horsfall with no doubt the crowd on his back he would be in for a tough afternoon. Glad it payed off.

I totally loved todays game. It was fantastic. Everything you want in a game. As long as you completely forget the first half.
Now the second half was perfect. Hylton on for Appere not before too long as well. Came on and did a real job on their defence. We got it wrong first half, not because we were a poor side, but because we didn’t match them physically. I don’t think there would have been any protracted and convoluted have time chats. I reckon Brady said go out there and fûck them up. I honestly could have picked four or five MOTM in the second half..

Maybe they didn't have a plan of how to play against Hylton as they assumed he was out injured I’m not sure how you can plan to contain Hylton. Perhaps the best way would be to draw enough battles to get him sent off. You’ve got to admit he’s a waking yellow card.
