In case you hadn't guessed, I'm not a Tory and would rather they were not in charge. However, they are for now and the Conservative Party is just about to impose another Prime Minister on us. Let's hope they are better able to do the job than the last two.
For the short term good of the country, I would rather it be Sunak, who I would regard as a safer pair of hands and someone who is a more serious person to run the country than the other main contender.
What I would genuinely like to know is what do "normal" people, as in you lot, rather than political people, see in Johnson that makes you think it would be a good idea to have him back?
This is a genuine question, as I would like to know what people of other polical persuasions think. We all live in our own little bubbles and tend mix with people who have similar opinions and backgrounds as ourselves, but football throws all sorts of people together.
What are your thoughts?

I'm your proverbial floating voter having voted for all three major parties over the years. None of them perfectly match my personal politics but more often than not I end up voting Conservative.
Not last time though. I thought Johnson conducted himself disgracefully during the whole Brexit mess and showed himself to be a complete liar. He seems to be a borderline sociopath if not a full fledged psychopath and is certainly a total narcissist who thinks he can just say and do whatever he wants.
That said, I think he did better than I expected during the covid crisis and I think the whole partygate affair was blown out of all proportion (although I know I'm in the minority on that).
I wouldn't want him back as PM though. He's a sideshow clown and distracts from the serious business of running the country. They should have picked Sunak last time as he was clearly the better choice and I think it's a damning indictment of the rank and file Conservative party membership that they chose Truss over him.
If this ends up as a two horse race between Johnson and Sunak I fear the party members will choose Johnson, largely because he's the right colour for them (and I don't mean blue). The only hope is that with it being an online vote this time it might limit the amount of bigoted blue-rinsers who cast their vote.

How can they bring Boris back without making themselves look even more incompetent and a bigger laughing stock than they already are. Only three months ago they kicked him out (rightly) with the fiasco of everyone resigning and now so soon he’s the best man for the job again!! what’s changed!! It just feels like everything conservative related should be accompanied by clown music. Each time I think they can’t get any more inept they surpass themselves.

Sunak vs Splash
If she gets enough nominations, otherwise I think we just get Sunak without it going to a vote, don't we?

I think she may get enough. There's a lot of hate for the man they call "Backstabber" in the Parliamentary Party, and even more within the ranks of the membership. The next few months could be bloody.

The reason Truss got in was not because she was the best candidate, it was because she wasn't Sunak.

We got the least worst option from my point of view. Grateful for the help for my business during Covid and he is at least a serious politician. Will no doubt make some out of touch gaffes. Hopefully we will see the back of him next May and won't need to wait until 2024.
It could have been so much worse in terms of being an international laughing stock.
