Another cut and paste job for the record. Philip George Neal (born 20 February 1951) is an English retired footballer who played for Northampton Town, Liverpool and Bolton Wanderers as a full back. He is one of the most successful English players of all time, having won seven First Divisions, four League Cups, five FA Charity Shields, four European Cups, one UEFA Cup and one UEFA Super Cup during his eleven years at Liverpool. Neal also had a long career with the England national team, winning 50 caps and playing in the 1982 World Cup. Saw him play for us a lot, he was good. Only time I sat in a seat at the County Ground was for the Dave Bowen testimonial where we played against Liverpool. A game set up as part of the deal that took “Zico” to Anfield. https://www.gettyimages.com.au/detail/news-photo/phil-neal-of-liverpool-shakes-hands-with-former-manager-news-photo/978680456

Anyway, Ivan Toney of course.
Obviously Ivan has got great potential, I don't think he is going to be the most successful in terms of appearances, but for goals scored, he could be the one, as long as he doesn't do anything stupid to mess up his career.

Bradley Johnson (don't think he's been mentioned?) has had a rather decent career. Shame he's ending it at the plastics, but even so...one of the best left footed players I've seen play for us in the last 3 decades plus!

Didn't he once make the England squad when Capello was manager?

Bill Barron was a former player.
....and had a decent first class cricket career as a left handed batsman and spinner. My father said he was probably a better cricketer over his chosen career as a footballer. After all played many times for the County upto 1951.

It is the same Duncan Spedding. I know someone who has used his services and by all accounts he's a very nice man and very good at what he does.

Agreed. Fantastic achievement. Shows what a good player he is to still be wanted by a league club at 37.
