Will we have a good following for this one, or will some be stuck in their armchairs?  Cool

There will be 3 in the Bingers Brigade, we're well hard core, we'll all be at Stockport as well.

Sold around 350 for this one so far but with no price increase on the day, wouldn’t be surprised if quite a few pay on the gate. Are there any decent pubs around the ground?

Prestwich Church Institute & Gentlemans Club is very popular according to PAN Young Methodists Group.

So, as I said, The Star is the closest, but a bit of a hike.
Only Evers would recommend the local church institute, which would appear to very popular in the absence of any decent pubs nearby.  Grin

If anyone deserves Salford City it’s Gary Neville.

As the thread is up early I may as well add a few stats. Obviously we have little history with Salford, just 5 games with 3 wins a draw and the only loss being this seasons home fixture.
So we are unbeaten at Salford with a win and a draw.
This season Salford have been doing a lot better away from home with 7 wins (1 more than us) but only 3 wins at home which all came in their first 3 home games beating Mansfield 2-0, Crewe 3-0 and Stevenage 1-0 and they have only kept 1 more clean sheet since. Their last home league win was on 27th August and since then they have drawn 4 (Crawley, Grimsby, AFC Wimbledon and Barrow) and lost 4 ( Tranmere, Bradford, Stockport and Carlisle). In these 11 games they have scored 11 and conceded 12 but have only scored 3 times in their last 7 home games. However, they have only conceded more than 1 goal in 3 games.
It would appear that we will be without Magloire and McWilliams for a while if they both have hamstring injuries so we have to hope some of the others missing against Orient (Koiki, Sowerby and Appere) are at least fit enough to make the bench. Without any of these the bench will be very week, against Orient the bench consisted of Maxted, 4 defenders, Fox and Hylton so limited attacking options. So with Fox replacing McWilliams if Appere does not make it that only leaves the prolific Hylton.
Robert Lewis (not Stevenson) is the referee and in 16 games this season he has issued 58 yellows and 1 red card. We last had him in April '22 for our 3-0 home win against Harrogate and before that for our 2-0 home against Mansfield in October '21. He did not issue a single card in either of these games.
I don't want to give Dr Feelgood a bad feeling but we started the season with 3 away wins and 2 draws before loosing at Walsall and since we have 3 wins and 2 draws again but surely this is where the sequence ends as I don't see us leaving Salford (who have Ryan Watson in their ranks) empty handed.

Josh Harrop on the bench would be an option .
I can’t see Koiki being fit or Sowerby sadly . Hopefully Appere will be ok though and we don’t get any more injuries .

For the previous two trips to Salford, quite a few of us have gone to the Oxford - just in Salford a few minutes walk from Deansgate (Manchester).
Brilliant pub, one of my favourites - actually made top ten Manchester/Salford pubs to visit this Christmas.
However, however, a good 2-3 miles from Salford City FC and last season the utter w⚓ of a taxi driver charged the eight of us £40!
First season, normal taxi for four of us, think £12.
With a 12.30pm k.o. though, all rather academic!

Yes Harrop would be an option. I queried why he wasn't on the bench against Orient as he was deemed fit enough in previous games.

First season three pounds per passenger, last season five pounds per passenger. Cost of living crisis is biting deeply. Just ask Mick Lynch..  Grin

If things had gone differently for me 57 years ago I might have been able to comment more knowledgeably on the 'suitable drinking establishment' question. I hitch hiked up to see my Salford lass, who I was quite hot on, but got diverted at the end of her street by her brother on my way to her house to have a quick one (beer that is), and ended up watching MU lose a long running unbeaten home record to Mr Dougan and Co. Leicester. Easier to just roll up without a ticket in those days. Arrived at the original intended destination quite a few hours later and things were never quite so romantically close after that!

I can think of three pubs around the Welly road, which have a few screens, and would show it. Artizan, Pickering Phipps and the Crown and Cush. I personally will be in the C&C. Anyone else have any suggestions?

You have to take a stroll around Prestwich whenever you visit the Peninsula, visiting the Red Lion, Ostrich, Woodthorpe and Foresters.
Closer and more atmospheric than anything in Salford.
So I'm told.

Salford have just signed goalkeeper Alex Cairns on loan for the test of the season from Fleetwood who he hasn't played a single game for this season.
