My wife went to school with Alan Carr. Her main memories of him are his left-field but hilarious take on Nelly from Wuthering Heights in a presentation he gave as part of their English Lit A-level course and dancing on a table with him in McGinty's on a sixth form night out!

Only the first episode. I enjoyed the local references and anything covering the Cobblers. If you don’t like Alan Carr you probably won’t like it. It’s set in 1986 but definitely not portraying our promotion winning season as we were bottom of the league. There’s a Morley lookalike (probably generic for the time) and they smoke in the bath. A Derek Banks style boss briefly featured. Thought they would have used a Geordie accent for Graham but probably pedantic to try and fact check it!* For info in the 85/86 season we finished 8th and the game featured would have finished 2 v 2 against the P*sh.

I don't like Alan Carr and I have only ever driven the Audi motor.

They've mixed things up a bit. When he goes to "big school" in 86 we had a three tier system so he'd have been starting at middle school that year (like wot I did, where I met my now wife who went on to be one of Alan's classmates at Weston Favell Upper, or Easton Lovell as they call it) but instead he's straight off to upper! I guess that's a bit of artistic licence that makes sense as if it goes on to stretch to a few series then they'll want to keep the teacher characters the same rather than have him move schools again. What did pique my curiosity though was when they talked about "Eric" who provided the dodgy catering at the club and they get invited to the opening of his new restaurant, which turns out to be the new Wimpy in Abington Street. Did Tony Ansell ever run a Wimpy...?

Cant stand Alan Carr myself, I find him deeply irritating. However, In my mind I am getting a mental picture of "Eric". Did he have his shirt undone to the waist, hairy chest on full view, and a large chunky medallion? There is another observation that I could make, but I had better not. Not on here anyway.

If Brain May and Roger Taylor signed off the artistic license and jumbled timeframe of BoRap, I think we can forgive Alan for some footballing and schooling inaccuracies.

Binged watch it all...really enjoyed it! The lad playing the young Alan Carr is the gem of the show...he's absolutely hilarious. Gonna go far that kid Hopefully when it airs on proper ITV it'll get decent ratings/reviews so a second series can be commissioned...

I like it but not sure how much I would if we weren’t the subject matter. He covers a few key moments of that era: - We were cr*p (could cover a large timeframe with that one!) - the stand was condemned. - the owner - the odd player similarity My favourite bit is definitely “welcome to the county ground m’ducks” We should sign that Adam fella up front.

Watched all the show, excellent production, my wife works at Weston Favell Academy so she was pleased about that bit A lot of artistic licence but that's fair enough.
