Have we got this lad signed up yet?
I believe we have an option on his contract and should be triggering it as a priority.
This 20 year old has so much potential and could play anywhere down the right side. I think he could play as a winger/midfielder as well as right back/wing back. Even a right sided centre half in a three.
That's Kioki and Lintott who have been signed after trial periods and being released by other clubs. Some mistakes have been made but recruitment has been excellent since JB became manager.

Agree, I've also been banging on about this, he's got such potential & should never have been dropped for McGowan in the first place imo... https://www.ntfc.co.uk/news/2022/july/harvey_lintott/Northampton Town have signed defender Harvey Lintott on an initial one year contract with the option for a further year. The signing comes after a successful trial for the right back, who has spent the first few weeks of pre-season with the squad, appearing in all of the pre-season fixtures so far. The 6ft 2in Lintott started his career with Gillingham and made eleven appearances for the Kent side last season. "Harvey is a young player who has done well over the last few weeks," said manager Jon Brady. "He has fitted in well and we have been impressed with what we have seen. "He is still only 19 but he has been in and around the Gillingham first team squad from the age of 17. He has a lot of potential, he played a number of times in League 1 last season and acquitted himself well. "He is strong and powerful and he is an athlete, the type of full back who can get up and down."

I imagine the extra year option will be triggered, unless the club receives a big money bid for him. An excellent prospect for the future

Well for a start off if Brady let’s this one slip through his fingers I want him sacked, and Calderwood, perhaps Richards as well.

I think when McGowan is available again he'll slot in at right side centre half alongside Guthrie and Sherring with Lintott and Haynes at wing back. Unfortunately, that will mean no place for Max Dyche but things could change if we get more injuries or suspensions.

Couldn’t agree more, something I’ve been banging on about for a while. Still baffled why he was dropped for a half fit McGowan in the first place. Bags of potential, sign him up long term and make him first choice. Offload the vice captain and fee up some decent wages!

He's a very good player, hard worker and has a real enthusiasm for the game. Trains very hard as well from what I am told. Hang onto him Town..

I like McGowan and think he has a big role to play. He's just signed a new contract, so it's safe to say he will be in our long term plans and as stated also vice captain.

When McGowan is available he will go straight in as right back in a back four , unless he needs to build up fitness after being out . Lintott has been a brilliant find but has plenty to learn defensively and going forward . The important thing is to tie him up for next season and the following season quickly because he is easy pickings at the minute on low wages and no security . I am sure everyone is working towards that and don’t need us to tell them so.

If you want wing backs to get forward and defend , there is definitely room in a squad for two quality options on both side.

He’s OK, not getting the love in to be honest, going forward he looks good but defensively second half yesterday didn’t look that great. IF we get promoted I’m afraid we will need better quality, not saying I wouldn’t sign him as one for the future though.

An honest opinion and easily agreed with, for me that is. The love in for HL seems a bit OTT. Reading the Chrons game reviews today more or less tells me all I need to know. Sincerely hope he resigns extension as he is a promising young player.

We seem to like 3 year contracts at present so perhaps we'll offer a two year extension to his current terms (ending June 30 '24). If he's on low pay now and for another season if we so chose, a decent incremental rise now and an extension should be a no brainer for him and the club (given his performance and potential).
I guess a big money offer would scupper this (unlikely yet I would have thought) but judging by the last two financial years results we rely on a big money sale to break even overall.

On Saturday he was up against their best player in Agyei and whether it was down to him, the team in general or Agyei having an off day he was kept very quiet. Admittedly Harvey wasn’t as outstanding as on Tuesday but he was still solid.

McGowan is a steady player and good in the air for his size. I would doubt his game is going to change and develop more. He has another 2 years after this season on his renewed contract, decent enough at this level but if we go up is he versatile enough?
Lintott appears to be developing game on game and has only just turned 20. Last season he played at League 1 level. Personally I would play Lintott and secure his contract extension as he has more potential I think and more likely sell on possibility if he continues to do well for us.

Agree with your first sentence there regarding the second half, although I put that down to a tiring Sam Hoskins not pressuring in front of him or tracking back, rather than Lintott himself. It was clear to me that Sam was exhausted after 55 minutes and needed to come off. Due to limited options on the bench he was left on for 15 more minutes than he should have been IMO. We moved Hondermarck across to try and help at one point but it didn't seem to. Its very unusual to see Sam looking visually exhausted, but as Brady said afterwards, we have a lot of players running on empty at the minute.

It didn’t stop Sam from throwing his rattle out of the pram when he was subbed off - I suppose it’s good that players are disappointed at getting taken off.

Nothing wrong with that, unless you are really stuck up your own @rse, and your name is Ronaldo.
