Not sure whether this has been added before but if you miss terracing sign this petition... IF we ever get the go ahead for an expansion of Sixfields I'd love to see us turn the North Stand into an all terraced stand. God I miss the Hotel End..... http://www.fsf.org.uk/petitions/safestanding.php

I was watching Late Kick Off on BBC 1 a week or two ago and there was an MP from Colchester on there who was trying to get a bill passed for 'safe standing areas' in league grounds. I can't remember the MP's name but he was a Colchester United fan who went to as many games (home and away) as he could. He did a survey of football supporters to see if they were in favour safe standing areas and around 90% said yes, this included people who prefered to sit but would still welcome standing areas for those that prefer to stand. The MP was fed up with people mentioning the Hillsborough and Heysel incidents as reason not to have standing areas. He went on to use Germany (and a few other European countries) who have standing areas as an example of how it does work on the continent and should at least be trialed over here. The BBC went out and asked fans from our region what they thought and again they wanted standing areas. Posh are losing there two teraces behind each goal over the next two season, I think that the atmosphere at London road can be great for away fans but turning the away stand into all seater stand will have a negative effect on the atmosphere

Well chaps, with over 4000 signatures in its first day, let's hope the hotel end can add a few dozen more.
Seriously, for those fans who have never watched the Cobblers on a home terrace...get yourself signed up. We are desperate for atmosphere to be restored to our football grounds.
Sign the petition!

I went to their game on Saturday. Whilst we were sat behind the other goal, the atmosphere that came from the standing end was amazing and the away fans below us standing gave it a good go as well! It makes a huge difference.

it will never work as the new grounds have all been design'd for seating & it is not just a case of removing seats it will mean knocking down the stands & rebuilding them for standing,i for 1 dont want the return of terracing but can understand why there is a call for it & at the same time i dont think that clubs below the championship should be forced in to removing terracing

Given that the prem and football league have both refused this, is the petition not a bit academic?

Drove by the Signal Iduna Park last night, not a state of the art ground but gets over 80k in. I have been a few times including Man City in pre season. As you say, the 25k standing home end is a sight and really generates an atmosphere. I sit just above (row 2) a 12k standing area at Borussia, no problems with safety or having to watch a match next to an undesirable, plus the atmosphere is excellent. Still had nearly 48k last week even though we are stuck on the bottom. Did you enjoy the experience/bier etc..? Dortmund are stuttering now towards the finishing line and are only 7 pts ahead (it was 13 at one stage) but I still believe that they will win it.
