I think most of us are pretty happy with the personnel at the club right now. Injuries notwithstanding its a pretty good squad. So where do Jon Brady and the team need to look in the coming season. Which areas need strengthening and who do you think the fans would like to see come to the mighty Cobblers.
I'll start you off with one name I saw is out of contract this summer. Jonny Williams from Swindon. My only doubt is his age though to be fair he is younger than Sammy Hoskins.
I'd also like to see Tom King on a permanent contract ASAP. It would also give us the flexibility to sell on Lee Burge if we got a decent offer which looks quite possible.

I think the priority is quality rather than quantity, especially in League1.
Firstly 2 strikers, followed by an attacking midfielder!

Forget the incoming for the moment, but which of our players do you think Wrexham want and how much do you reckon they are prepared to pay for them?
Super Sam as our first million pound man?

I don't know how true the rumours were but there was a rumour they wanted Guthrie last summer I wonder if they would revisit that

The squad will only need a little tinkering if we stay in League 2. Going to need a complete overhaul in League 1. Either way two decent strikers would be my top priority.

I couldn't disagree more. The way I see it, the squad will need a little tinkering if we go up, especially in the forward line, but a lot of the current squad are good enough for L1 IMO, IF they stay fit. It might need more of an overhaul if we stay down, because I fear we'll lose several key players if that happens. We have some very good players at L2 level who may be tempted away.

Wrexham seriously pursued Guthrie and offered him big wages . The club refused to sell to give credit to them . They also came in for Horsfall the year before . Of the players out of contract , i would only keep King and Koiki

Which key players that are not under contract for next season are you referring to? Those under contract would attract a transfer fee and their sale would be up to the club and the manager to decide.

I think fortunately, at least in regards to transfers, the players who would attract the most attention are the other side of 30 now, with time running on their contracts. We are well protected from pursuers compared to previous years, only problem is limited stretch to improve, and replacing Bowie and Leonard who will both be big losses.

New contracts - David Norman, Max Dyche, Tom King, Peter Abimbola, Miguel Ngwa, Dont know enough but always a shame to see the youth go - Jack Connor, Liam Cross
Hylton could be an asset in League 1. I thought he would be in League 2 but it hasnt worked so maybe will be in League 1. Definition of insanity?

With regards to the youngsters - none of them have pulled up any trees on loan . Some were not even getting a game at places like Aldershot. They will have to improve considerably to make the grade at this level on the face of it . I think we will persist with Dyche but i wouldn’t be surprised if he goes elsewhere personally to get more game time .

As a deep midfielder maybe, although thats a bit to close to his own penalty area for some of his antics. Certainly not as a striker.

Do we need a non mobile midfielder?. I would rather have McWilliams, Fox and Hondermarck.

Ngwa was doing well at R&D, so well in fact we recalled him and sent him out on loan to a division higher. Dont you just hate it when that happens!!

Agree on Bowie & Leonard. It was a great achievement of the management to get in quality young players capable of playing over 40 games. Leonard has been a key factor in the evolution our playing style and I think has broken the loan appearance record for an outfield player. Bowie’s influence has gone way beyond his goal tally, our return to form coinciding with his reappearance after the injury lay-off. More of this please. Ideally in my eyes we’d have a player with Leonard’s awareness who can play as a goal scoring no 10. Hard to come by I expect.

Do you think it’s too much to hope for if we go up that we could get either or both of Leonard and Bowie back next season?

I don't think Leonard has reached the level of Matt Grimes yet on a one-to-one basis, although will go down better with people because he is part of a promotion push rather than relegation from a league above. But he has been more influention on the team as a whole.
I think if we do go up we still won't get Leonard back. Clubs tend to like to see how they do in different environments. even if it is at the same level.
Bowie I think? is out of contract? I'm not sure. If that's the case we might have more chance. But if he signs a new contract, the same applies.
