We really need a quality experienced player. They will invariably come with issues though, legs going, injury problems, something. The question is, is it reasonable and manageable and that is a bit of an unknown until you do it. Got to have a player of that standard though IMO.

Only one comment; Class is permanent!
We need his quality in League 1.

there is obviously split opinion on here about Jacobs . I am prepared to have a good bet that he will not be coming to us . The caveat would be that he signs on a pay per appearance deal but i don’t even think that will happen . There is no room for sentiment in football and i’m pretty sure he won’t be joining us . If there is a change of direction - fair enough i will hold my hands up .
Same here. We all get some right we all get some wrong. Was updated last night, apparently still have an interest in Jacobs it just has to suit all parties.

It sounds to me as if our experience with Hylton is affecting our approach here. I may be wrong.

If its pay when you play, OK. if its a two year contract, not a chance, walk away, take your Crackers elsewhere.

It’s naive in the extreme to think that he’s going to sign a pay as you play deal - I don’t think such a thing exists these days. If he signs it will be a 2 year deal.

That is my point Irchy. Unless we want to get our fingers burnt again. Hes not worth the risk. if its a two year contract, not a chance, walk away, take your Crackers elsewhere.

Absolutely, he’s been in and out of the treatment room at Pompey, that’s why they released him FFS, they are in the same league as us. Thanks but no thanks.

Agreed. We can’t have another Hlyton or Maglorie on our hands.

Good time to ask Luton to pay off Hylton for lumbering him with us.

I know absolutely nothing regarding football tactics, positioning of personnel etc so this makes me very qualified indeed to comment here, I feel in good company. I think we already may have a new signing in Hylton for next season, don't know why, just a hunch based on my vast experience but he could be a surprise. Once hes drunk off the Luton success he may be more focused on league one. I do have carpentry experience however and with some tooling I can put round pegs in square holes, the same as Jon apparently? P.S. Thanks for the edit Deepcut, I will know for lists in future.

In your opinion. Not really . The player doesn’t train and his knees are shot . He can’t start games and can only play 20 minutes . You think that will improve another year on and a division above ? You crack on if you do !

I'd be surprised if Hylton adds anything to us next year.
Painfully obvious we are just pension fund and I'm sure Luton are laughing at us from their lofty heights.
As for Jacobs signing. I like the idea, but I'm also over the 'we'll be better when they are back from injury narrative' that we get so much.
There's enough quality out there and with JB and Cos track record, with the odd exception, I'm confident.

I didn't state anything either way, you're the one presenting opinion as fact.

except what i’m presenting is fact not opinion … He hardly trains and can only play 20 minutes without his knees blowing up . That is fact .
