Reading between the lines, the issue for them is that they trying to legitimise what they know was an unfair way to go up. Of course it’s not their fault that scûnthorpe fielded the team they did. But they know that against even a half full strength side they would never have won the game, and remained in league two.
It’s not their fault at all. And we would have taken the promotion, had the shoe been on the other foot. But of course they know over the course of last season who would have gone up, had it not been for a completely unfair and totally gifted last game.
As for ripping hole in Brady. I think we all know out of him and Barton who's the actual decent person.

Great fun. Got me thinking - in terms of size/population Bristol must be the most under performing city in football history, it is a bit less than Liverpool in population with circa 400.000 population. And between them the two football teams have won... Nothing!

They won’t let it go, when you don’t succeed on merit it makes any subsequent achievement worthless, a bit like cheating at solitaire. It’s not their fault obviously, but not ours either.

Nice to have some fresh rivalry. Same sized club, difference being we’re not in the shadow of a neighbour. Helps that their manager is a feral **** and that we had the record breaking PO win (prior to P*sh ) over them. Makes a couple of games a bit livelier next season because they’re a pretty anonymous team otherwise.

What happened on the last day of last season hurt...
But they beat us in both league games. Get over it.

I get why Bristol Rovers are in denial. On the face of it winning 7-0 on the last day to claim promotion is an unbelievable achievement. The fact that Scünthorpe showed absolutely zero integrity by putting out a youth team with virtually no league experience changes the narrative and denigrates what they did. So I guess it’s understandable some choose not to believe the truth and hang on to that fairytale. Next season though they will just be another opposition team I have no feelings towards them at all.

Phew, for a minute there I lost myself.

I have never had a problem with them winning the game or going up. Not their fault, they just beat what was in front of them. Just have the decency to admit that it was not entirely fair and that if roles were reversed you would not be happy with it.
One of their lads saying 3/4 of the team they beat played against us. The reality is that 3 of the team we played started against them. They’re completely in denial.
Most of football seem to now agree that what happened was much more a lack of integrity than some sort of footballing fairytale, and you only have to look at the goals in the game to see how out of their depth those lads were on the day. Men against boys. Literally.

What is the point of Bristol Rovers? They seem obsessed with us, hope we play them first game of the season, could be a bit lively.

Is that that what they call Barton now?
He’s a giver rather than a receiver apparently, so probably not? As rumour has it, according to Keith Hill anyway.

Keith Hill is reportedly hiding down a sewage pipe, just outside Tripoli. I've informed the militia!
