Its all very strange. Tracking him since June then apparently decide to offer him a contract when he's injured? Maybe a cheaper deal for us. Who knows.

It just what we need another injury prone player on the books.

I don't know about "tracking him since June". He was on trial during the summer, played in most of the pre-season games but we didn't sign him because we had enough midfield players : Sowerby, Fox, McWilliams, Leonard and Hondermarck plus possibly Pinnock. The problem now is Fox is injured for who knows how long. Sowerby and McWilliams are injury prone so another midfielder is probably needed and the lad impressed during the summer, therefore it makes sense. He probably picked up the injury after signing on, would be typical of our luck.

i think we offered him a contract in the summer and he turned it down - found no other club interested, so we offered him another one...........if he has indeed signed one?!

I don't know if ntfclad could confirm if the signing of Khanya Leshabela is still happening because it's gone a bit quiet and it was suggested it would have been confirmed by now.

Did you find something funny? So to get this right anyone we have on trial is being tracked (all summer), is that what you're saying? Please let me know how many players were on trial during last summer and then ended up being offered contracts? Thanks in advance.

Yes, I found the bit where you massively contradicted yourself in the space of 5 words rather amusing. Everyone we've had on trial has been tracked that's correct, unless they've successfully turned up unannounced with their boots on. Not sure where the all summer reference has come from though.

Incorrect. Last summer when we were short of numbers because of injuries we invited various players (trialist on team sheet) to help us through and enable us to limit the game time of our contracted players. Nothing more, nothing less. Therefore, no real intention of signing these players. However, occasionally when this happens a player impresses as did Leshabela. I don't think at the time we needed another midfield player but circumstances have now possibly changed with the Ben Fox injury and fitness doubts over Sowerby and McWilliams. So my point is, not all trialists are 'tracked' they just help out at that particular time. Have you got any proof we were tracking Leshabela since June (all summer)?

More ex player really but nice to see David Norman doing well for St Patts and winning the FAI Cup recently.
Did well for us when from nowhere thrown completely in the deep end and didn’t let us down.

I think someone should just take this city of Peterborough and just... just flush it down the f***in' toilet

He's a good lad. Like you say. Put in a decent shift for us when we needed him.

Wycombe sign free agent striker Lyle Taylor on a short term contract. The former Birmingham, Forest, Charlton and Wimbledon man has scored 86 league goals in 265 appearances for those clubs over the last nine seasons.

They obviously have owners willing to back the club.

Was he not the one who went on strike and refused to play for Charlton when they were facing relegation?

34 in March and not played for a season and a half. A punt to say the least.
Stiil, I would have been excited if he had signed for us.

He was one of three players at Charlton who were informed their contracts would not be renewed on June 30th 2020 due to the financial issues at the club at the time. This was the Covid affected season which was paused in March 2020. The season got back underway on 20th June, 10 days before Taylors contract was due to expire. He and the other two decided not to play and risk injury ahead of potential moves to different clubs in the summer. Charlton manager at the time Lee Bowyer said he fully understood and respected the decisions taken by those three players. Taylor of course joined Forest as a free agent that summer and got himself a 20k a week deal!!
