This is typical Braverman style gaslighting that not only distorts the truth but actually is a catalyst for civil unrest and division - My understanding is the vast majority, who have demonstrated every weekend since this tragedy started have agreed to stay clear of the area and maintain a respectful approach.

Did you see the protest yesterday in Northampton - silent, very respectful and included a number of Jews in the gathering.

So what's your view on peaceful pro Palestine with an objective of ceasing the death toll of 10k plus civilians (Israeli and Arabs)

Instead of having such a polarised right wing view, perhaps try stepping in the other guys shoes or better still spend a couple of weeks in Gaza helping an aid agency then you might be qualified to comment on an immensely complex subject

You are not in a secure moral postion to criticise another posts view point when you subscribe to a left wing fantasies. Dont read his posts!

Personally, I don't think the protests should be happening this weekend. Not saying they shouldn't happen at all, just that there is a better time for them.

You just know there's going to be a load of Britain First type fýckwits who will turn up to "protect" the Armistice Day events and they will end up getting into bother with some of the more volatile protesters. It's got powder keg written all over it.

I think a lot of people would agree with you on this - for me the weekend is about respect to the fallen, the end of hostilities and indeed the cost and folly of war so arguably the protest march is entirely appropriate. But you are right there are undoubtedly fractions on both sides who will use this as an opportunity to further hate or a simple excuse for confrontation so Iím a bit divided.

I read and will continue to read MannyĎs posts because he has a point of view - if I disagree IĎll express why in what I believe is in factual and polite manner - he is welcome to answer and discuss in the same spirit

Your question on the security of my moral position because some (but certainly not all) of my views are perceived as left of centre is completely irrelevant.

Hear, hear. We  have freedom of speech and democracy. People have fought and died to give us that right. We can still respect those we disagree with.

Fully agree. Respect for those with a different opinion is what sets us apart from extremists and zealots. I just love it when people start shouting during a discussion, because you know you own them.

Thank you. I'm already fully aware of the meaning of the word though and I still don't think it was an appropriate day. The protest detracted from what the day is supposed to represent and dominated the media coverage.

Meanwhile, I read this morning that a hospital is being stormed. However poignant some felt the timing of the march was, it was the equivalent of a fart in a hurricane and as such would have had an equal level of effect if held this coming weekend.

There could not have been a more appropriate day to call for peace than a day designated to peace

Whoís calling for the death of Muslims? Well just one example - Amichal Eliyahu, Israel's Heritage Minister  who suggested dropping a nuclear bomb on Gaza, and said he believed "there are no non-combatants in Gaza - presumably that includes the 10's of thousands of women and children already killed
Hamas are using Palestinians as human shields. ....remarkably well informed for a person who has never visited Gaza

Well I can't fault your sense of irony in using a dailymail quote (a newspaper that an independent fact checker found to consistently report incorrect facts ahead of any other mainstream media outlet, apart from the Sun, in the UK) to question the credibility of the BBC

Manny, you need to stop quoting right wing publications quoting right wing, titled, private school educated (a member of the dreaded ďblobĒ?) pro- Israel politicians. Donít get me wrong, I have some love for Sir Michael - he was very pro remain right up to the time BJ emasculated him.

Let me be arrogant and give you some advice Manny. As a leftie, if I just read left wing bias publications and listened to left wing bias pod casts / radio stations, I indeed would think that the BBC were very right wing biased. But I donít, I try and understand all sides - which is why I particularly like your extreme interventions. I was a little cross when the BBC appointed right wing sympathisers / campaigners as Chair and CEO - Richard Sharp and Tim Davie. But I know if the BBC annoy people like you and people like me then they are probably getting it right!

Iím on a roll for giving advice, so let me repeat another one Ö
Join Reform Manny. Itís only a matter of time until 30p Lee, Cruela and indeed the Daily Mail and GB News come out and nail their colours to that particular mast. Although I suspect Tyce wonít have 30p Lee - heíll accept extreme right wing but I donít think heíll take stupid!
You are clearly not stupid Manny (youíre a Cobblers fan after all!) so Iím sure theyíll have you.

And the paper's owner was a big donator to the British Union of Fascists.
