December 2018, inspite of G maps, i did similar and was met with a 'no idea mate'.
Found it via some allotments.

And the football in the middle of the roundabout...

I went to our 2 nil win at Barrow in January with an old friend, the one who'd first got me into travelling to away matches.
He had endured an awful year of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy and said he wanted to celebrate being given the all clear by going on a Cobblers road trip. We chose Barrow and spent two enjoyable days staying in Ulverston, the game wasn't great but it was a win!
Very sadly a month later his cancer had returned and a month after that he died.
Saturday's game will be very bitter sweet for me, so much more than a cup tie. RIP Ben.

Roll Call.....I'll be there, trains permitting, complete with 2 Changes en-rote, all be it in a "cheaper seat".

Yes this boring Cup Draw now becomes a lot more of  serious importance.

I would deffo rotate the keepers & put a strong side out.....a draw would be a truly undesirable outcome....

Bouncebackability Huh?

Sad and quite poignant.
Ulverston is great. Stopped over there both times for Barrow - the second time, hopefully to bury the demons of the first horror show!
Worked, and hopefully you and Ben had a good one in Ulverston. RIP.

I think we will get the required reaction to the Derby performance and as we were so open at the back I expect us to play 3 centre backs as we have leaked goals without Guthrie. We averaged conceding a goal a game up to the 9th game which was his last, this has since doubled as we have conceded 12 goals in the last 6 games without keeping a clean sheet. A few weeks ago only 2 teams in the division had conceded fewer goals and now only 6 have conceded more which shows how much he is missed.

However, Barrow are no Derby and only 3 teams in division 2 have scored fewer goals than them but on the other hand only Mansfield have conceded fewer goals and 4 of their 5 clean sheets have been in the last 4 games. From their 9 away games they have 3 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats scoring 10 and conceding 9 and those 3 wins were all at teams in the lower reaches of the division. The 3 defeats were all by a single goal at Stockport, Mansfield and Grimsby. They have also held Wrexham and Notts County to draws at Barrow and in their 16 games have only conceded more than 1 goal 3 times and never more than 2. They have also only scored more than 1 goal 4 times.

We have an excellent home record against Barrow winning 8 of the nine games and they did not score a single goal in the first 7 games but have scored in each of the last 2 visits and recorded a 1-0 win 2 seasons ago. In these 9 games we have outscored them 24 goals to 2.

JB says that Sowerby and Appere could be available and get some minutes so presumably they would be on the bench. So he will have the same available squad with few attacking options on the bench and will probably have to give Simpson another start unless Appere gets his minutes at the start.

I would expect the attendance to be well down from usual, it is also a not very convenient KO time but 2 of our 3 will be there hopefully to see us progress to the 2nd round for the first  time in 4 years.

Sad story indeed but isn't it strange how football brings these poignant strands together. I am sure your trip was a fillip for him.

Not yours then  Tongue
Think we got off at junction 11 and didn't hit that island until after the game when making our way back to the 23, in which case it would have been dark.
That's my excuse for not seeing it anyway. Grin

Must win match with the strongest team possible. Otherwise the supporters might turn! Can’t wait to see the team selection.

This game now feels significant, need the win for some confidence & £££.

I have no idea if we will rotate or stick.

My guess would be

           Thompson

Lintott Willis Sherring kioki

    McWilliams leonard

Hoskins  Hondermark  Pinnock

Simpson/Dobson (at this rate Dobson would be an improvement)

This is probably far off but i haven’t a clue who will be picked,
Can we afford to put Hoskins up front and put another defender in midfield?!?

Will we hit 3000 attendance ?

I can't see us approaching this with anything other than the strongest team available. It's the FA Cup and after our recent run it isn't a game we want to be losing. Could be the last season of replays.
A good win tomorrow would be good for morale all round.

I agree Dav although Barrow will be no pushover, would be good to get a few more through the door at Sixfields

Having a quick look at ticket sales it is going to be less than half of our average home attendance so far this season of 6822. West stand is marginally over half sold, north stand just under a third and not many in the east. I estimate about 2500 and it is unlikely many Barrow boys will make the long trip for a 1.30 KO so with last minute sales maybe just over 3000.

Late decision to make the arduous journey cross country and attend.

I think we will come flying out of the blocks and have the game out of sight by half time.

We can have 9 players on the bench for an FA Cup tie if we can find that many with working parts, I doubt if Barrow can as they have only had 6 players on the bench for their last 6 matches.

In other news the Harrogate keeper is out injured for about 3 months and they have just brought in Jonathan Mitchell, the Harrogate manager said he was delighted to get someone of Jonathan's quality.
