Really fed up with this.

International football should be midweek so as not to conflict with domestic football.

Once again supporters are the last people considered.

Really poor that they start selling tickets on Monday and postpone the match 4 days later. We never started selling the Pompey fans tickets, so when I saw the Charlton one on sale I assumed that the game was on, again it's called off before the squads are announced ?

It was clearly stated with the sale of Charlton tkts that this is subject to International call ups...which I thought everyone knew and was expecting tbf!

Completely agree this none sense needs to be stopped, it doesn’t happen in Rugby the games still go ahead.
Full internationals maybe bu U21’s etc is ridiculous.

Yes I know that, the point I was making is that they had a good idea the Pompey game would be called off, so didn't sell the tickets. Surely they must have had the same inkling about the Charlton game ?

I guess the answer is that Charlton had already sent us the tickets to sell.
Portsmouth was a home game so we decided not to send tickets to them because there was a good chance the game wouldn't happen.

As I say just a guess.

Michael Appleton's just made a fool of himself with his selection for this afternoon's FA Cup match - now they have another match to play as punishment. Why do they do it ?

Charlton 1 v 1 Cray Valley Paper Mills.

I thought CVPM were outstanding and must admit I’d never heard of them.
Charlton weren’t great but it was well deserved.

I am so glad we didn’t play Cray Valley yesterday - they would have thrashed us …

Sky have run a feature about international callups affecting League 1 games in a way they never have before, 10 of this weekends 12 games are off.

In Charltons case  Goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer (12 appearances this season) is away with Australia, Karoy Anderson (10) and Michael Hector (16) are away with Jamaica, James Abankwah (3) off with Rep of Ireland U21's and Terell Thomas (17) with St Lucia.

So five players away on international duty, however Charlton managed to play a Cup replay last night and despite none of these players being in the squad anyway they still managed to put out 11 players plus a full bench of nine subs.

It does sort of beg the question as to why are league games called off in these circumstances.

Games should only be postponed if you can't fireld a 11 plus 5 subs it's a clubs choice to sign players they know could be away

Either that or don't schedule any games for league 1 teams ona International weekend

Always wondered why rugby and cricket are so different. The top levels carry on regardless.

I watched that game and wondered the same thing. If they can play on a Wednesday night without their international players then why can't they play this Saturday. They won 6-1 as well so were hardly weakened that much, albeit they were only playing Cray Valley Paper Mills who had nothing left in the second half after chasing everything in the first

Having said that I am quite happy for the Cobblers to have a week off in the hope that Guthrie will be fit for Cambridge. Hopefully Bowie will come back fit and healthy.

Totally agree.

We have missed out on sooooo many Saturday days out!

Derby away
Pompey home
Charlton away
and probably Boro' away!

Plus the club's will have smaller attendances and therefore less revenue for the rearranged midweek fixtures.
