If anyone is interested.....here's your match thread for Tuesday nights game down the M1,

Cobblers end yet another disappointing Cup campaign with a meaningless Trophy tie against already qualified Dons. We will be forced to play a fairly decent strength side but there is the opportunity to get some minutes into the legs of players who have played little or are coming back from injury. I'm not even going to try and make a lineup prediction for this one!

Its a 7pm kickoff if you fancy it.....£11 for S/T holders and £13 without.
..
Anyway, The Dons are 13th in League 2, have recently appointed former Gateshead manager Mike Williamson to replace the sacked Graham Alexander, and have won their last two home games scoring seven goals in the process. In this competition they beat Chelsea's youngsters at home by 4 goals to 1, and won by the only goal at Oxford in their other game.

Mk have won this competition previously, winning in 2008 alongside their League Two championship campaign.

Thanks to the geographical nature of fixtures in this competition this will be the sixth meeting between the two sides in the Trophy, and we have lost in our last three away games.
In 2009 they were 3 up within half an hour, Steve Guinan pulled a goal back for the Cobblers, then on to 2013 where we lost 2-0 and had Ismael Demontagnac sent off, and then in 2020 we took the lead through Joseph Mills before falling to a 3-1 defeat. Add those three to the League and FA Cup games we are yet to win a competitive fixture at Stadium:MK, of course we did win 3-1 there in pre-season.

It should be Sam Purkiss as the man in the middle, on paper he is a bit card happy with 69 yellow and 8 red cards in his 14 games this season. We last saw him in our 3-0 home win over Rochdale in September 2022, for the Dons it was a more recent 2-2 draw at Wycombe in April of this year.

I think this could break the record for the lowest attendance at stadium MK.

Thats a bit out of date as on 22nd November last year the home game with Newport County in the same competition attracted a crowd of just 635 (72 of those from Newport)

We really need to turn out in force for this one. Our near neighbours could do with their coffers filling as the burden of running a large stadium with limited income could really cause a severe financial headache. In their time of need they have to rely on those closest to them and our ties through history and a shared geography mean we are best-placed to fulfil that role. It also gives us the opportunity to visit an exciting and vibrant city with a 24 hour culture of thrills. Our aim is true so this one must not be missed.

Wheres Fenners won't be going because he can't be ąrsed, I am refusing to go on principle.

However, since the Oystens are no longer involved in the running of Blackpool, I shall go there a week later, the first of a run of three matches out of four - yes I will be making a rare visit to Sixfields!

Typical, in terms of assumption and self righteousness.

Need match sharpness but an injury to a big player would be disastrous.

I would go

      Thompson

Lintott Ak Willis Monthe Kioki

        Sowerby

 Hondermark Abimbola

    Simpson Appere

Appere & Sowerby taken off after 45 mins

Haynes, Mcgowan & Guthrie to get run out with couple of youth coming on

Ive just checked, and CISC and Sixfields Travel are not running any buses to this one, which means that Teyn is the only bus running. So, some lucky person could find themselves sitting next to superfan Everbrite! He must be going afterall..  Grin

Wouldn’t it be easier to get the train to Bletchley?
