Because he had his head turned by Gillingham?

Because he is nowhere near as impactful in L1 as L2?

Because Brady doesn’t trust him anymore?

Take your pick.

Another thing to consider is our GK situation. Max Thompson is only on loan to January and with Lee Burge missing more games than he is playing do we ask to extend Max's loan to the end of the season or bring in a more experienced GK with a chance to earn a contract for next season as Lee will be out of contract in the summer.

Who would be a lower league striker?
Wouldn't it be great if Hylton returned to his previous aggressive, in your face, striker we saw glimpses of when he arrived and Simpson grabbed himself those goals we were promised when he arrived.

Ok I'll take my pick.

Who says he had his head turned by Gillingham?

Also he gets picked every week, so Brady obviously does trust him and also thinks he's good enough for league 1. That's why he gave him a contract extension fairly recently.

We turned down a bid from Gillingham in the summer for Pinnock as for having his head turn I have no idea but he does live near there

Pinnock is one of 4 players to start every league game. Sherring, Hoskins and Leonard are the others.

I don't think Brady trusts the others either.  Grin

Of all our regular first team starters, Pinnock is the one who I would be most relaxed about him leaving.

If a League Two club chasing promotion was prepared to give us some money then that could be a good deal all round. PROVIDED of course, the transfer fee and wages saved were put into a proven League One attacking midfielder. Perhaps someone who is out of favour in one of the higher placed teams or who hasn't been successful in making the step up to the Championship. No names for you, just musings in my own tiny mind.

Happy for him to stay, but he is the one from the contract extensions that was the most likely to be classed as good League Two player. I might also have said that about McGowan, but now he is playing regularly, he has been showing his worth.

Brady. Pinnock. Both will admit it if you ask them.

He does get picked every week, what’s the other option.

Have a chat with Brady..

I think an experienced goalkeeper is needed, Burge seems to be crocked and young Thompson needs a break, he’s 19 and hadn’t played 1st team football until he signed here I believe

Completely agree, unfortunately Burge is injured more than not, we need an experienced keeper in till the end of the season.

I agree, Max Thompson isn't a bad goalkeeper.
Aside from his kicking from the floor, which he struggled to make the halfway line, he had a really good game at Blackpool.
People forget that he's only 19, most keepers are not at their peak until their mid to late 20's.

I could of written this myself, other than maybe not as grammatically correct.

Just too add. He's likely to be on one of the highest wages in the squad, so when it comes to playing football manager, juggling your budget around etc...it would all point too moving Mitch on. Plus of course factoring in that some one in the league below with cash on the hip would probably chuck us a couple of hundred grand for him as well, knowing he will get a tonne of assists and help them get promoted.

My only concern would be that he appears to be one of the stickiest glues we have in and around the dressing room. All players seem to mention him in interviews. He's clearly a really good lad. So given that our USP is team spirit, it would be a tough call and a bit of a g@mble. Not sure when his contract runs out but if he's got another year after this season, then Id be inclined to keep him until the Summer and then cash in. But would we get the same amount, offered?! Probably not. I wouldn't want us too rock the boat too much in January, unless 7 points from the drop zone becomes around 12....it kind of highlights what a tough gig being a football manager, particularly when it comes to proportioning your budget!

Pinnock drives me nuts to be honest, he is without doubt a talented player with a wand of a left foot and a great shot, that said, his work rate, tackling and winning of headers is non existent, this can be tolerated in L2 but in L1 everyone has to contribute and he doesn’t do enough for me.
He is definitely a luxury player.

He’s a good L2 player but probably not quite impactful enough in L1.

I think you are spot on Manny. For once  Wink

From watching Pinnock this season he appeared to be useful asset and can remember an away game at  Wigan where Pinnock was instrumental behind in every move approaching the Wigan third of the pitch. The Wigan full back was being spun all over the place by Pinnock. Eventually to no avail. Judging by the standards currently exhibited by some if not the majority of League One Clubs Pinnock is a quality assett we need. Cambridge lost the other day as on the day they appeared devoid of quality. We had at least 2 or 3 players who did have some aspects of relevant quality. At the moment I feel he is an useful assett - keep him at least to the end of season.
