In very poor form according to the Cumbrians Forum!

Where did you play? My course Cold Ashby is closed due to being waterlogged.
10 holes opened at Wellingborough today.

Nice course. Only played it two or three times.

I'm actually quite pleased when Cold Ashby closes, it keeps the course in good nick. I was talking to someone who plays at Brampton Heath and he said the course is taking a hell of a beating.

I won the Chronicle and Echo competition at Brampton Heath in the late 90's. It was pretty featureless back then as a new course. I won a gold membership and nice trophy.
I was playing off 18 in a Stableford and won it quite easily, despite not playing that well. Feeling embarrassed and anticipating the cries of "bandit!" I shot off and my mate collected the trophy for me. There were sponsors there and in the interview he said "he could go all the way"  Grin  I think I only showed my face there once after that. I got fed up with golf as got to a certain level and then found it frustrating that I had too many bad days and couldn't get any better. It must be how Ronnie O'Sullivan feels.  Tongue

Are we getting anyone in today?

It was sunny earlier on which was lovely but then the wind picked up and it got cold quite quickly

For those who may be interested our former 'prolific' loanee Ryan Edmundson is currently plying his trade in Australia with A league side Central Coast Mariners who are second in the league. He has played three games so far and has looked as threatening as he did for us, and all the other clubs he was loaned too. CCM have signed him on a 2 and a half year contract - good luck with that.

Aye, lovely, been to the Lakes for my first big walk since my operation. A bit parky out of the sunshine, but not bad for February.

If we are planning to sign a free agent as Clarity is possibly hinting it won't be announced until just before kick-off tomorrow (approx 18:30 to 18:45). That will ensure the other team can't do any prep work on the new signing. We like keeping our info away from other teams, like injured players  Roll Eyes

I looked at purchasing Cold Ashby GC about 5 years ago, it was about £800k, not an investment for me but glad it’s still open, great views from the Par3 third. It’s the highest village in Northants. FACT.

On a Sunday morning you actually could sign players  "on the line" just get the ref to approve it and that would be that...

After that law was changed you just played "ringers" who weren't signed on but in our case masqueraded as made up names that we had "signed" and submitted to the league pre season...

Won secretary of the year at for Pattishall Rangers two years running  Grin

I signed Frank Grande's son Dustin but didn't receive the paper work even through in was sent off in plenty of time so he couldn't play in the next game, though he turned up expecting to and was very disappointed. I told him he should take it up with the Registration secretary who was his dad, Frank Grande.
