And this sort of day is what the Cobblers are hoping to draw Saint's fans away from?
Not sure Cobblers are hoping to draw Saints fans away from anything. We'd certainly like a lot more of the towns football fans to be drawn in though. If the ground was big enough of course Anyway, well done Saints. Not a rugby fan but a great achievement and kudos for the town. Not sure how many Saints fans were there but imagine there were still 200,000 or so townsfolk not there, so plenty of people available to support 2 successful town sides.

It's been great to see The Saints adopt The Fields are Green and Shoe Army as their songs too. To hear these being sung yesterday at Twickenham and at the open top bus parade today was brilliant being a Cobblers fan too (their version of The Fields are Green is probably better).
I think we should return the favour and adopt Oh When the Saints with the slight twist as follows...
(real slow pace to start with like when Spurs sing their version)
Oh when the Town Go marching in Oh when the Town go marching I want to be In that number Oh when the Town go marching in
(normal pace)
Oh when the Town Go marching in Oh when the Town go marching I want to be In that number Oh when the Town go marching in
(quicker) Oh when the Town Oh when the Town Go marching in Go marching in Oh when the Town go marching I want to be In that number Oh when the Town go marching in
Shoe army (10 times) Shoe army Shoe army Shoe army Shoe army Shoe army Shoe army Shoe army Shoe army Shoe army
Oh when the Town Go marching in Oh when the Town go marching in

You have gone to a lot of trouble over these songs . Has Coolie commented on them? Well done all the same!

It’s an easy song to sing to so hopefully get more people singing rather than small pockets in West Stand corner and North Stand

Let’s give it a go. It feels like we should reciprocate the respect and commodore shown by the Saints fans towards us.

I saw the game on TV and was pleased Saints won but the ugliness of the game reminded me why I don't watch rugby. My wife used to say "they run about a bit then all fall in a heap" pretty much sums it up for me! Jo Brand the comedian once said it was a game for an audience of one, the Referee, because he was the only person who could see what was going on! A lot of truth in that, I hadn't a clue what was happening or why the Ref blew his whistle. The Cobblers football under Boothroyd and Curle was prettier than that.

But equally puzzling

Because The Saints came first? Were they parking illegally, are they really that rich that they can afford to risk the fine and have their cars towed away, or were they just being resourceful where they left their cars? Are you going to criticise me for never once paying for parking on a Saturday afternoon when I watch the Cobblers?
Guess what type of car I drive?

Of course I have, many, many times. My point was that in my eyes, rugby is always an ugly game. Hence the old saying, Football is a gentlemen's game played by hooligans. Rugby is a hooligan's game played by gentlemen. Can we agree on that?
