As silly as it sounds there is probably something in that.
The “blocks” approach is pretty common.
It is exactly that.
Don’t get too low after a loss and don’t get too high after a win - how are we doing for our aim for this block - it’s a way of managing minds.
Thanks Observing 👍🏽👍🏽 I found it interesting and so made the thread. Thanks to those contributing who don’t find it interesting or don’t find it relevant. No issues with that either. I’ll be keeping this going and look forwarding to see how we do in each set, compared to the reverse fixtures.

It has been quite an amazing turnaround in results,
First 15 games - 14 points = 0.93 points per game or 43 points over the 46 match season
Last 10 games - 22 = 2.20 101
To reach the average of 73 points that has secured a 6th place finish in our last 21 games we now need another 37 points =1.76 points per game Barnsley currently in 6th place from 22 games require another 30 points = 1.36 points per game and their goal difference is 20 better than ours
Breaking it down into JB's 5 match games we need 9 points from each set of games which are:-
Set 1. Home - Wigan, Shrewsbury, Away - Oxford, Charlton, Portsmouth.
Set 2. Home - Bolton, Bristol Rovers, Charlton, Away - Leyton Orient, Burton.
Set 3. Home - Blackpool, Derby, Away - Peterborough, Cambridge, Wycombe.
Set 4. Home - Port Vale, Carlisle, Exeter, Away - Reading, Fleetwood.
We would then need a point at Barnsley to reach 73 points
Basically to reach the play offs we need to overhaul 3 teams above us. I think it unlikely we catch Portsmouth, Bolton, Peterborough or Derby which means finishing above 3 of Oxford, Barnsley, Stevenage and Blackpool. I also think that 73 points may not be enough this season but if we are still in contention after the next 6 games we only have 3 games left against teams currently above us in our last 15 games but I would rate our chances as slim.

Talking of which I noticed you got quite high after your win.

Let me make one thing absolutely clear, the Trust “advisor” is not god. Are you going to tell him or shall I?

My pleasure. PS Could I limp rather than march, sorry, but I am still not quite at full fitness. I am sure that by the time we get to the next block I will be in good order to march again. TIA.

Block 6 fixtures : Wigan H (L 2-1) 1-1 Oxford A (W 2-1) Charlton A n/a Shrewsbury H (L 1-0) Portsmouth A (L 3-0)
After game 1, +1 on reverse set and on reflection possibly a bit lucky with that. Good start made ✅

I like the green tick Dan, a useful addition to the psychology of the block message. I hope you realise that your thinking here is ahead of it's time and one day the naysayers will come around to our way of thinking and you will get the plaudits you deserve.

In five years time Bingers, this thread will have more comments than the Redevelopment thread, and at least 7 posts will have been from people other than you or I. And I look forward to it.

Just so you know, I have looked at this thread more times than I have EVER read the Redevelopment thread. That's the high regard I hold it in. It's here and now cutting edge FACT not like that pie in the sky, if, buts and maybes of the "other" thread.

This time next year Tabby, you too will be a blockbeliever. And Dan will be your mentor in all things football related in general, Cobblers in particular.

Little chance of that mate. Do you know what Dan, years ago Tabby's ancestors were still pooltling about on a horse and cart whilst his neighbours had one of these new fangled motor cars. Chances are that he will have a diesel car when the rest of us move on to EVs. Some can't see the wood for the trees.
