Super Sam talking about the blocks of 5; if you can find it amongst the 473528 adverts that pop up!

Glad you are keeping these blocks up to date, Dan. I was looking forward to going to Oxford but now it clashes with my allotment AGM and I'm standing for re-election on the committee. So I've got a big decision to make. I was hoping it would be in the following block or later on in this block.

Either way, its the first time an allotment meeting has clashed with an important game in one of our blocks. I'm seething.

Thank you Drilling, yes he does.

"At the start of the season, we break the games down into blocks of five and we sort of review it after every five games and see where we are.

"But we just have to keep doing what we are doing, and everything will take care of itself."

When a Cobblers legend brings it up, we know itís here to stay. Thank you Super Sam.

Good luck with your AGM mate, get that vote!

Block 6 fixtures update:
Wigan H (L 2-1) 1-1
Charlton A 3-2
Shrewsbury H (L 1-0) 0-2
Portsmouth A (L 3-0)
Bolton H (L 2-1)

Shrewsbury complete the double over us. The next two both have an opportunity to do the same. Iíd wager 7 points was the target for this set, can we reach it?

Still to come.
Block 7 :
Orient A (D 2-2)
Bristol Rovers H (L 2-1)
Oxford A (W 2-1)
Burton A (W 2-0)
Charlton H (W3-2)

Block 8 :
Posh A (W 1-0)
Cambridge A (W 2-1)
Blackpool H (W 2-1)
Wycombe A (L 1-0)
Derby H (L 4-0)

Block 9 :
Reading A (W 3-1)
Port Vale H (L 1-0)
Carlisle H (D 2-2)
Fleetwood A (W 3-0)
Exeter H (W 2-0)

Block 10:
Barnsley A (L 2-1)

Another result matched from the reverse fixture.

This was always the hardest block and thatís been backed up with the result. Win or draw next week and we still better the reverse results ☺️

I was thinking the same Dan. I reckon blocks are a good psychological tool for looking at the season as a whole and not getting carried away with rogue results.

Our 6th block is now completed.

Block 1 : 2 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses.
7 points from 15

Block 2 : 2 wins, 0 draws, 3 losses.
6 points from 15

Block 3 : 0 wins, 1 draw, 4 losses.
1 point from 15

Block 4 : 4 wins, 0 draws, 1 loss.
12 points from 15

Block 5 : 3 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss
10 points from 15

Block 6 fixtures :
Wigan H (L 2-1) 1-1
Charlton A n/a 3-2
Shrewsbury H (L 1-0) 0-2
Portsmouth A (L 3-0) 1-4
Bolton H (L 2-1) 1-1
1 win, 2 draws and 2 losses.
5 points from 5 games

Now the interesting thing and probably why they do this, is because thatís 1 more point than the reverse fixtures. Based on the seasons results; this was always the hardest block and hopefully will be the lowest return, other than block 10 🤣

Block 7 starts on Tuesday. Similar points return to before would go down nicely:
Orient A (D 2-2)
Bristol Rovers H (L 2-1)
Oxford A (W 2-1)
Burton A (W 2-0)
Charlton H (W3-2)

Block 8 :
Posh A (W 1-0)
Cambridge A (W 2-1)
Blackpool H (W 2-1)
Wycombe A (L 1-0)
Derby H (L 4-0)

Block 9 :
Reading A (W 3-1)
Port Vale H (L 1-0)
Carlisle H (D 2-2)
Fleetwood A (W 3-0)
Exeter H (W 2-0)

Block 10:
Barnsley A (L 2-1)

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am looking forward to block 7. It could well be the defining block of our season. No transfer window to get distracted about, just getting points on the board.

It's interesting to look back at the blocks and see how it accurately defined our moods as the season progressed. Thank God for 4 after the misery of 3

A very good point. They are a good psychological tool to help navigate our way through the ups and downs of what is a marathon, not a sprint.

Itís that time that Bingers looks forward to.

Block 7 latest.

Leyton Orient L 3-4 (2-2)
Bristol Rovers W 3-1 (L1-2)
Oxford A (W2-1)
Burton A (W2-0)
Charlton H (W3-2)

After two games, we have gained a point on the reverse fixtures 🥳🥳🥳 This does show the importance of not getting carried away by good or bad form imo. Block 6 was disappointing but weíve started 7 very competitively and should have had 4 minimum.

Good start Cobblers, keep it up 👋🏽

Thanks to Oxfords generosity in defence, we nab a 2-2 draw and make it 4 points from 3.

That matches up the points return from the reverse fixtures so at least we are consistent. Get your mortgages on back to back wins 😜

I think Dan is better at maths.
Maybe JB meant that they have already hit their target of 7 points after 4 games?

Or maybe 4 games and 1 point in to block 3, they declared it didnt count and started again.

It definitely isnít me who didnít forget the change to the Oxford block position 😂😂 sort yourself out Jonny boy!!

But go on, hereís the latest.

Block 7
Leyton Orient 3-4
Bristol Rovers 3-1
Oxford United 2-2
Burton Albion 2-0
Charlton H (W3-2)

So far, 7 points from 12 and a good chance to make that 10 on Saturday.

Most pleasingly, look at all those lovely goals scored in the block. Averaging 2.5 per game, thatís what the fans want to see.

I should add that Derby home clashes with an international fixture, so expect a final switcharoo to the end blocks 😱
