So is this different to the Fans Advisory Council that we had before the pandemic? I seem to remember that the last meeting had 4 people attend and was then given up as a bad job.

Why not contact Tom and ask him?

To be fair, I believe he meant what has he achieved for the club and fans...not personal gain or gratification!
Exactly what I outlined. If he has received personal gratification and recognition for his work then more power to him. He was always on a hiding to nothing and only saw one other person remotely interested. He’s been available to liaise with fans, that was the remit.

Great idea to expand on engagement - (only partially tongue in cheek for certain individuals) but I am going to also write to Tom re overseas supporters representation as there are a few points I would like to see acknowledged - just one example is the dreaded "international weekends" and the very short notice given for postponing the game - even labelling the fixture list like for subsequent FA cup rounds might avoid wasted travel arrangements.
If there are any other of my overseas friends who want to PM with any other comments please feel free to do so.

I was the lead of a large representative body for 15 years as a founder member. You start thinking you are going to change the world and then you realise your place and what you can/can't change and what you can/can't influence. You then challenge where you can and where appropriate. You gets some wins and make a difference in certain areas for the people you are representing. You have to be acutely aware of how you represent the group, the language you use and ensuring you remain credible, whilst aiming for the best results and standing up for the group at the appropriate times.
Tom is a representative body of 1. From what I have seen he has made himself available. He comes across as extremely professional and presents himself well. If he had any cross words or challenge in the background I am sure no one would know about them, although the moment he took the role he was written off as a KT patsy.
I can imagine if some were in that role. The fact that we have an 'official' Supporters Trust who have been incapable of mediating a conversation with the club they are attached to speaks volumes, although none of that will be their fault either.

I think this is a commendable initiative and getting a wider range of views can only be a good thing. I do find myself in the rare position of (partially) agreeing with Tony Clarke on this though. The absence of the Trust in the list of supporters groups invited to participate seems rather pointed. My views on the Trust board are well documented but they do exist as an entity. The fact that the Trust have twice now decided not to participate in elections for the supporters board rep suggests they wouldn't have engaged in this anyway, but the club have missed the opportunity to take the moral high ground by publicly inviting them to the table.

No its not, I replied in 83 seconds once to another sarcastic comment from someone who would much rather deflect attention away from the owners and on to me and the Trust But thank you for thinking of me Happy New Year to ALL And you are a prominent person in the Trust Derek. It certainly makes me question why I actually became (and remain) a member in the first place. All you do is bang on about the owners instead of getting your own house in order.

Couldn't agree more. The invitation should have been sent. The decision whether to accept or not should have cone from the Trust.

counting down the days until the realisation hits that our owners are here for themselves and not you, I or NTFC
You don't think the Trust should have protected the running track land? you believe the owners should have it for free?
You are not worried about our owner attending one game per year on average, lives 3000 miles away and has been involved with bankrupt companies writing off £30m of debt?
And those same owners sold the club in a questionable deal, without telling anyone, went back on their agreements with NBC, and still haven't started the East stand
and they can't wait to take their money and run - thats the days YOU should be counting -
Tell me this, who was the last person to award a £6m+ stadium project to a company that absolutely zero experience in building anything, not even a shed, let alone a stand?
Answer: David Cardoza
History repeating itself,
You (or the Trust) had the same opportunity as KT and DB to buy the club but they put money where there mouths are! Using the same question you asked of Tom Cliffe, what have you achieved in recent years apart from wearing out a keyboard? Actions!

No mate. I never drink in Carrs bar. Dodgy clientel and even dodgier beer. And caps are best left to others. From the left, Lee Geary, Ian Carter, Richard Fletcher, some cafe owner, Andy (muddy) Muddiman, and some ugly mutha. Now we can see if any of them contribute under a pseudonym on here.

I didn't think it would be you. I recognise all except the guy stood behind Geary, but you're confusing me now. I thought Muddy was the skinny blonde haired shellsuited guy who looks a bit like a character out of Lord of the Rings? The guy in the picture (Andy?) next to the cafe owner is a Burberry clad Stone Island wearing tall dark haired guy who I've been seeing for decades without ever actually uttering a word to. None of my business of course, just curious. My missus has long had a soft spot for the guy in question in the pic. She has a nickname for him which I won't divulge on here in case he or any of his mates are signed up on here. Me and the other (Tolkein character) Muddy are mates now, I was right behind him in a halftime pie queue and we both wanted the same flavour but there was only one left and he graciously let me have it.

The Hotel End is on the list and Derek/Duston is on here so by extension could he put himself forward?

There's nothing stopping any of the Trust board or their secretary from applying to join the SAB is there?

True: "There will also be spaces available for individual supporters or other groups who wish to be nominated and anyone interested should contact Tom Cliffe via email at cliffetom@hotmail.com." But who would they be representing?

Good question, themselves? The trust membership? After all they are the one true voice of the fans according to an esteemed member of THE

Considerate of the club to give the fans something else to argue about during the lull before the next game.
