Tickets on sale for our trip to Fratton Park. Shouldn't be an issue for anyone wishing to go, allocated an initial 1024! Interesting, a choice of seating or safe standing - all in the Milton End. Looking forward to a weekend down on the South Coast, Albert Rd and the great pubs on the side streets, hopefully the Victory and Mary Rose on the Sunday, maybe Sharon on Saturday night! Orient took 1300 there, though that was their big day out, having not played at Pompey in years - as far as I know, but would be good to get close to that number. By then, Portsmouth will have gone from best team to play us (are you joking?!?) to playoff also rans! :

Bear in mind that ASLEF called a rail strike yesterday so it is highly likely there will be no trains between Northampton/Milton Keynes on any operator

Yes. No probs for me personally, we'll be driving down and stopping at the excellently convenient Ibis next to Fratton Park. That is the situation next Tuesday for Charlton away - bus replacement from MK to Northampton on return.

Enjoy that Ibis mate. Definitely in the top 5 sh1t hole hotels I've stayed in (stayed there after the last game of the Wilder season)! To be fair it is conveniently located and providing you just dump your stuff in it and get out really quick, and only return back after a good session ensuring getting too sleep isn't an issue, you should be fine! Great place to go out drinking, is Pompey. As far as stop overs are concerned, definitely one of the best places to frequent.

Stayed several times - nothing whatsoever s***hole about it...and I stay in hotels all over, whether Miami, Malaysia or Pompey. It's smart, car parking and of course conveniently next to Fratton, and a load of decent pubs between there and the Albert Road!

What is legendary about the Blue Boar in Abingdon Dan? In fact is the place still there or open? Been to Abingdon countless times...I know my stuff whether hotels or pubs...as well as the best way to get to Oxford if you read my post on Oxford thread! Edit* Ah yeah, can see it's open...has SKY Sports on and does burgers... legendary!

Clean room and bed, and a good hot power shower is all that’s required! I’ve stayed in hotels from NYC to Sydney, 5 star and no star

I'd say try the Nags Head on Thames, Broadface, Kings Head & Bell, Abingdon Tap or even the Narrows (decent Spoons) and come back to me!
