If Southampton don't go up I think Sherring will be going there with Colderwood so don't think any movement on him till after this week's play off final

Would be surprised as for me he is nowhere near good enough for a championship team expecting to get promotion.

I disagree. I think he's a really cultured defender who's comfortable with the ball at his feet and as a young player still has bags of time to improve further. Would he walk straight into a Championship side? Probably not, but I could see one taking a punt on him with an eye on the future.

No chance, Sherrings form at the end of the season was poor, top end L1 at best, agree about the future but at the moment he’s nowhere near the Championship.

In fairness Peter is correct If anything david and now Nigel are the money men , KT is merely the chairman as far as I’m aware. It’ll be interesting to see who will be calling the shots regards transfers…. You’d imagine Nigel would want to have some input given he’s been looking at various clubs to invest in before choosing us… That’s a fair comment isn’t it?

I don’t think Frosty is correct at all. It’s his opinion but he appears to misjudge KT position! If Brady requires more funds he goes cap in hand to KT. Most of us are aware of Mr Bowers position. Nice bit of spin on KT tho

To be fair I didn’t make a statement, just asked a question to Manny re why is it KT has to pull his finger out re signings- JB has a budget which at the moment is massively in credit due to departures and no additions- so at this stage surely it’s only the management that need to move forward strengthening the squad - perhaps later when the money is spent it comes back into KT‘s court - it seems to me the KT critics play it both ways when it suits them.

I’m no critic just stating a fact that KT isn’t the money behind the football club unless I’ve missed something. I was always of the opinion that DB was the source of funding although I may be wrong

Good point and of course they do!

Given all clubs have a finite budget, I am wondering how many of us would have offered an improved contract to Appere even if there was a reasonable increase in the playing budget. (Which there may well be at this point). On that, budget comments start around 4 minutes in. https://youtu.be/GZTEZzSdWHw?si=dsCe0uuasvWf64vt

Let me make one thing absolutely clear, the Trust “advisor” is not god. Are you going to tell him or shall I?

Not me. Nobody can question his work rate but I don’t thinks he’s progressed as much as a player as I’d hoped he would. He’s not a winger or a striker and for a pretty big guy doesn’t use his strength well and rarely seems to win aerial battles. That said he’s been part of a promotion winning team and hope he does well apart from against us.

I think someone should just take this city of Peterborough and just... just flush it down the f***in' toilet

I think you are right. KT doesn't have the kind of money to support a FL club but he does have the skill to be the go between with the money man (DB), management team, various sponsors and us lot. It's quite a common role higher up the leagues.

Hopefully, the deadline for both Sherring & Willis to sign is today, if not it should be...
Both had plenty of time to accept or decline...

They are under contract to the end of June so have all of next month. However, if we were to find suitable alternatives we could withdraw their offers.

Personally I’d like both to sign, but agree it’s frustrating as they are obviously holding out for better offers.

My take on the Contract Offers left open as of now;
Presuming we haven't set a deadline of later than May 31st;
Notify players or player's agents that the offer is no longer current (as a matter of pure courtesy) and get on with making concrete offers to alternative options or pursuing alternative strategies given the obvious impact on available budgets. Any negotiating tactics should have been resolved by now. That "been on holiday" tactic is window dressing at this level.
Hopefully the club makes an announcement very soon (tomorrow?)
