I found this interesting article and I thought I’d share, I’ll try and keep it succinct, but basically, researchers from Lund used very easy to measure metrics to conclude just how much carbon the average person produces in a year.
Here’s the key data.
One fewer child per family can save 'average of 58.6 tonnes of CO2-equivalent emissions per year'
And by contrast:
Living car-free saves about 2.4 tonnes of C02 equivalent per year Eating a plant-based diet saves 0.8 tonnes of C02 equivalent a year Researchers found that avoiding one trans-Atlantic flight per year can save between 0.7 and 2.8 tonnes of C02 equivalent per year (depending on the distance traveled, amount of luggage on board and how many passengers on the flight.) I also found this grimly amusing, considering how much people go on about bloody recycling.
Recycling will typically only save 0.21 tonnes of C02 equivalent per year So.. lets digest all of that and sum it all up with three simple sentences.
If you are childless and never recycle, fly six times a year, drive a Range Rover V8, and live off barbecue and beers, you have a smaller carbon footprint than a vegan hippy who never takes a flight, never drives, and consumes nothing but rainwater, carrots, and misery, but has one child Even if everyone in the UK copies the hippy woman, starts living in a yurt, and recycles to their optimum, we will still be fûcked when the population hits 20 billion Recycling does next to fûck all I can add loads more arguments too.

How exactly does it control us?
I can see how a government can charge us more (raise tax) by using climate change as an excuse.
It's not a hoax though, look at this winter, no snow again. I remember as a child in the sixties we were out sledging every year, always snow and often quite a lot of it.

Very true, it's part of the normal weather cycles of the planet. The hoax is that humans are causing it and going electric etc is going to help. Plant experts are starting to point out that if we reduce the CO2 levels plant life on the planet will die out.

Just imagine if there was a junior Manny running around. I have an image implanted, of a little brat running around, wearing shorts, and a baseball cap, barking into his phone "get me on the next flight" or "I dont need a reservation" FACT. Bless the poor little spoilt bastard, for the Boys Brigade marching band awaits. Lots of drums and batons and bugles.

Don't want to spoil the argument, but we got a whole load of snow yesterday. Most of the schools in Bradford finished early and some on the edges of t'moors didn't even open. All melted in my garden by the time I came home, but still plenty about up t' 'I'll.

Makes you shudder, doesn't it. 58.6 tonnes of CO2 is an awful lot of schoolboy farts.

Alternatively, I’m raising my carbon footprint as high as I can. I’m trying to protect us against the impeding next ice age.

So you're saying King Herod was simply an early environmentalist?

Anyway, forget this climate change malarkey...having kids in general...and I chose to create them on 3 occasions.
1. You didn't get "left with the kids"...applies to male or female, you chose to have them and have a 50% responsibility. They are your kids. "Being a mum/dad is the hardest 'job' in the world" whilst sipping on your Costa with the other parents in your gym gear. Get a job. 2. Why should you get financial hand outs help to raise your kids? It encourages breeding without accountability. 3. There should be financial advantages (other than the obvious financial advantage) for not having children. Not accessing benefits, healthcare, maternity pay/leave etc but making the same contributions to society.
Controversial I'm sure but in 2023 and the days of 'equality' so many areas of life are still seriously antiquated. I'm sure the counter argument that without them that the world ends but as a starter for 10 we should be able to stop feral families knocking out half a dozen of them.
