As I don't actually watch tv that one went over my head, just like my comment about you proving my point about the human race being suicidal did for you.
OK mate. I feel that there is no point in continuing this discourse with you, as you believe that the human race is suicidal, and all families should only have one child.
Take care, and I hope that you feel better soon.

The typical response of someone who has lost the debate. The human race is suicidal. If it were not then there would be a ban on any car engine other than a three cylinder eco boost engine that does a gazillion miles to the gallon, but no this wont happen because it would infringe on peoples rights of choice. Everyone says they are concerned about the climate change(lies) until such time as it impacts their chosen way of life. Yet again thank you for proving my point that the human race is suicidal. If you can't see what the problem is obviously you are part of the problem. I hope you recover from your mental illness soon.

I think addicted and selfish would be a better description, but yeah, I get your point.

Its all down to cloud seeding, as the pub village idiot would say.

You could argue that global warming has improved since 1998  Tongue

I was living with a friend on St James Park Road and the water was two feet up the lounge wall. I moved out.
It was a good year for dingy sales.

The Bedford rd was closed yesterday morning due to flooding, as was the Trilogy swimming pool at the general hospital due to rainwater leaking into the pool. Just a hoax after all  Wink

There is no way that your first picture is good friday 1998. The cars are too modern, and the flats didnt have the blue diamond until 2015.

Alright flood police  Grin You can't believe anything on the internet...in fact from 2021 according to the Chron.

There isn't many about from Jimmies in 98. I can remember some boats around West Bridge in the dip.

Here is a 'good one' of St Leonards Road (FAR COTTON) parking was always a nightmare down there.  Tongue

The water was to the top of the stairs in the Greenwood Road terraced houses in 1998.
The Army were 'rescuing' occupants, using combat boats, through the upstairs windows.

A couple of people died, including the woman down at South Bridge. This led to us having some of the best flood defences in the country, which are being tested at the minute!

The Nene is flowing a bit faster than normal and so far the flood gate on the Nene navigation is still down, might be different tomorrow morning. Moulton was flooded earlier as was Holcot and the neighbouring roads, a lively drive home via the causeway and Brixworth

I used to live down Abbey Street in the early 90s, so I remember the area quite well. As for Cotton, I was working down that way for a body repair shop, and spent the next few days towing the stinking cars in. And a lot of the owners blamed Wrefords Transport for the trucks ploughing through, and swamping them with bow waves.
Shouldnt be too long, before the sirens start sounding at the Aquadrome.

We had a little bit of drizzle yesterday afternoon, but that was all. We are renowned for good weather up here.
