Hall at left-back, Davis at left-mid. Surely.

We've just won 2 games on the trot against decent sides. Hall had a really good game and was unjustly criticised against Oxford. I wish people would stop this Davis love in. He's not a natural defender and never will be. Hall for me every week I didnt think Hall was that bad at Oxford, good game last night

Holt's been immense in recent weeks. It'd send the wrong message out to the squad if he were to be dropped.

I prefer Davis but it's one of those ying-yang things.

I would keep the back 4 as it is, 4 solid defenders. Maybe play Davis left win and Jacobs right wing. Really attack Barnet!!!!

Holt was definately off the pace last night and taken off after 60 minutes. Perhaps carrying a knock?
With Holt slightly flat and Hall hardly pacy anyway it presents an issue with opposing managers pressuring the defence with quick wingers/attackers.
Barnet have that Marshall who is rapid so I'd be concerned with a team including the freight trains (Tozer and Beckwith), Hall and Holt...not enough pace.
I think Davis will go back to being left back to give the defence a bit of zip but he should go left mid against the teams with slowish attackers, with Hall at left back

Hate to be harsh here and although Dunn should have easily saved the resulting shot but......
looking at the highlights, shouldn't Marcus Hall have blocked the shot?

Yes I agree. I think that there's not enough blocking of shots and crosses

In fact, both scorers for Crewe had their job made easier by being given time and space, something for Sammo to work on?

I'm more worried about our back 4 being susceptible to balls over the top to be honest

Are you sure it was Hall? But yes, he could have done better but (to act as devils advocate), from my position in the North (doesnt quite seem the same on the highlights) he wasnt showing him much of the goal and the only part he could aim at should have been covered by Dunn. Still, should do better.

The same can be said for the Oxford goal the other week. Davis was backing off and should have tried a challenge or at least close him down to prevent the cross

Davis didn't actually play against Oxford

Eh Thought the same, till I realised it's just stupid merging again. The post was obviously a new one, which has been thrown into a "any mention of liam davis" thread. Something really needs to be done about this silly moderating, your making the forum harder to use.

I don't have a problem merging threads if they are pretty much the same thing, however it does seem that almost any slight mention that could link the two threads together and they get merged, seems a bit silly and can be confusing.
