Another defeat in the One Day Cup this time to a second team Lancashire. Difficult to work out our tactics when we batted. Only McManus looked comfortable.
Very poor overall.

Latest game away at Gloucestershire abandoned at the end of the first day dangerous pitch
If it is dangerous strange how it took most of the day to decide that

There's a decent analysis of what happened here; https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/articles/c4gepn7jem2oMy recollection is that in the old days a pitch inspector from Lords had to actually be called out to inspect the pitch himself before the abandonment could be authorised. Being hit on the hand by a fast bowler is hardly unusual so it must have been a particularly poor surface. 11 bonus points v 0 bonus points is a decent return for Northants though we could do with a few wins. I'd hate to be in the Head Groundsman's position now. It's been a decent year for preparing wickets so no excuse with that you'd think.

Just listened to the coach on radio Northampton. He days the pitch was bad at the start and got worse through the day he dreads to think how much more it would get worse

Injuries mounting up for the T20 QF next week. Such a shame that the team that got us this far can’t be the team to try and get us to Finals Day. Vasco and Bopara big losses and even more so if Breeetzke not available. I’m getting a bad feeling about this one.

Sadler finally given the bullet.
Way way way over due. I am no cricket expert but giving it a go last night was irrelevant after the appalling bowling and (in particular) fielding display. Somerset didn't have to buy wickets, they just had to manage our batsmen.
His interview afterwards was worse than any Cobblers manager I've heard, he really did sound completely deluded and clearly doesn't mind losing!

216 was always going to be too much for that line up to chase down. To get within 17 is a credit to the batsmen (Bartlett aside). But the match was lost in the field. It was a strange one because I never felt we were in it but we were never really out of it. Just teased us to think we could do it even though it looked very unlikely all the way. A dank old night for the full house. Sadler’s gone thankfully. Hopefully now we can start to get some team spirit and unity back and move forwards again.

That dropped catch of Kohler-Cadmore effectively cost us the game, but they did much better than I expected with the side we had out. Somerset are a good side with an excellent captain in Lewis Gregory and I fancy them to win it.
I'm not sure why Miller was playing, he didn't bat or bowl, I would have thought Keogh or Proctor should have played as Keogh can bowl.
I like the look of Justin Broad.
