From next season, @SkySports will be the home of the EFL. 📺
With over 1,000 EFL fixtures live via Sky and NOW each season, iFollow/club streaming services will no longer offer domestic live video coverage of EFL matches.

Will people still be able to watch it abroad?

Managers like Bowen and Wilder* are rare to come by! Whether we like it or not Jon Brady is the only recent Manager who can possibly follow in their* footstops!
We should stick with him, as at the moment he is our only hope of survival as a EFL Club!

I'll delay getting a season ticket to see how likely it is are games will be moved and to what sorts of time. As I find it harder to get to games that aren't on Saturdays

Agreed - as usual a decision based on money and no consideration for fans - we can look forward to Thursday, Friday night KO’s together with later Saturday starts and Sundays - access much more expensive than iFollow and overall far fewer of our games covered. I understand the money aspect but as it’s spread out across all clubs all it will do is inflate wages and transfer prices and make no real difference to the health of the game.

Your last statement are my thoughts as well. The additional money won't find it's way towards the fans or the infrastructure.

It's not fair. Does this mean people will either have to fork out a mountain of money to purchase SKY or worse still, will they have to go to the games! 💺📺🍺

Hasn't money that's been generated by any means always been spent on players ? Why do people think it would be any different ? As for not purchasing a season ticket just in case we don't play Saturday, waiting won't make any difference, games will not be chosen that far in advance.

Agreed. The £ will of course just increase wages etc. However it should help us more so than many of our league1 rivals...
500,000 or whatever it is will make a much bigger difference to us than for many of the 'bigger' clubs that we are up against.
As for the kick off times, yeah case of wait and see. It might also help the non league game, given that on a fair few Saturdays EFL fans will be looking for something to do.

I wonder how many games will be shown on the red button with one commentator and one camera so no different angles or replays. This is what happens at the moment in the championship for mid week games, they choose one match with all the usual programming and then every other game is via the red button. I suppose it gives the fans of championship sides the chance to see their team mid week but the experience is not great.
Do we know if Sky will be making an extra charge for this service or will it be within the normal subscription? I already pay £99 per month for Sky and I am damned if I will pay extra.

More details here.... https://www.skysports.com/football/news/21564/12873679/sky-sports-agrees-new-five-year-efl-deal-over-1000-matches-per-seasonMain takeaways, with 248 games per season that will work out at around 7 per week for League 1. Greater parity across all clubs in the league, therefore they won't necessarily show a Derby County game every week for example! Minimum camera coverage is mentioned, a minimum of four cameras for streamed games and eight for televised games. The 3pm blackout remains, therefore we will still be unable to watch Saturday 3pm games without a VPN! Notice period for movement of fixtures.....before the season starts all the games before FA Cup 3rd round weekend (January) will be announced so there will be up to four months notice. Games shown on existing channels...ie it doesn't look like this will be a "pay extra service"...as long as you pay for Sky Sports already. Non-subscribers will be able to buy day/month passes for Sky Sports and Now TV. Looking at another article it suggests that SIX games will be shown at 1230 on a Saturday across all three EFL Leagues and with 328 Championship games against 248 from each of League 1 and 2 there should be a fairly even spread. Four other games will be shown every Saturday with evening (1715-2000) kickoffs.

I'm sure I read a while ago that sky will be showing all mid week games next season so that will make up a lot of the live games.... Says it it in the article, all mid week and bank holiday games to be shown, so may reduce mid week attendances even more .
5 games in total each weekend across league 1 and league 2 and 5 from the Championship.
Not sure I particularly like this.

Without answering for him he probably has Sky for everything - phone, broadband and television. I doubt £99 is just the TV package.

Wouldnt worry too much, Wrexham and Birmingham will be on ever week in League 1, so only will be a couple of our games that will get moved.

I at least want to know what the slots are likely to be for example I can't do Thursday nights at all so if we are likely to have 3 or 4 games on a Thursday night it would be pointless

I cannot recall Sky having an EFL game on a Thursday night this season, I think it is very unlikely.

If I remember rightly(which I do sometimes) most if not all of the league 1 televised games were on a Monday this season.
