Maybe it’s just me, but I detect, shall we say, a certain pattern where the perpetrators are concerned. Perhaps I’m just not making sufficient allowance for ‘cultural differences’.

Without being  patronising I think you are missing the point - most people on here don't use their real names. The individual mentioned has tried to move from his original somewhat unique name of a nonentity football hooligan to a new persona with an easy to say and commercially switched on for his aims - it being a good old all English name.

Yes, I recall youre first posts on here, demanding that everybody uses their real names, and then stating that everybody knew who you were anyway.
And then deleting them, for reasons best known to yourself. But thats without being patronising..

Nonsense - below is actually what was said - I see no demands, just a personal action about what is right for me - yes of course some people knew who I was but not all  - it's simply about me owning my actions & words. As for deleting anything - no I didn't, but I did close the account based on the same principle

Seeing some of the cowardly s***e that's posted on the internet and definitely not just here I think we are rapidly coming to the point where anonymous contributors hiding behind nicknames and sometimes even changing ISP information shouldn't be allowed - I know it actually won't happen but I can't make the point and not follow up the action. Doesn't really matter who I was in the past and probably not that difficult to guess but going forward I 100% own the comments I make.

Not sure why you have been insulted - I’m talking about some cowardly anonymous postings on social media generally (not exclusive to this message board) and as a result of some exchanges on here going forward I simply wanted to post under my real name - as for not taking me seriously I think that’s a pretty good advice on all posts

Its very difficult to prove otherwise, when your first two posts have been deleted/removed or whatever. And closing the account comes under the same heading, as far as I am concerned. But theres nothing wrong with a little mutual mistrust between us, this is what forums are for.
