Of course you can as ambition is a personal thing and very different to expectation. It’s fine for someone to have the ambition of getting promoted or if they are a complete masochist they can have the ambition for the club to lose every game.

I have an overriding but mostly hopeful ambition for the Club. It started with Bowen and has never deserted me. For me the simple truth is that once you are ‘hooked’ into your local team the desire never leaves you.
You take it to the grave wherever you may live!

Or in some cases, the pessimism.

The league is going to be even harder next season

We've the smallest budget, a manager whose worked miracles and just lost two players that were likely difference in a lot of games.

I'd say avoiding relegation is just being realistic.

With fewer creative players, would staying up by returning to a direct route one style be a price worth paying? eg goals against Exeter and Barnsley.

First aim avoid relegation then aim to finish as high as possible.
Cup run would be nice involving a good away day to bolster funds and good day out but not at expense of league form
Hopefully play nice football.

As the League is not finalised for next season yet, how can people state that we already have the smallest budget ? Smaller than Burton for example? We all know its not going to be a huge budget, but where are people getting their information from ?

They're probably making it up. KT said at the start of the year that all the clubs have to submit their budgets to the EFL, and we were 17th. With Stockport, Wrexham and Mansfield coming up, all you'd expect to be higher budgeted considering their attendances and press, we probably slip 3 places down the pecking order. We'd be low for sure, but probably just outside the bottom 4.

I can't speak as to why some are convinced that KT is lying and we're actually the second lowest budget in the league, they'll have to tell you.

Burton are bankrolled by a guy called Ben Robinson, they’d never survive on gates of 3000, they have been in the Championship too for good measure.

Wycombe will probably need to be taken seriously next season?  Shocked

You thought wrong. According to you and your Trust luvvies, they're queuing out the door to snap us up. Other than the much fabled mob who hovered around during the KT take over, we've hardly had a whiff. And they didn't raise the quid necessary to seal the deal. There was one genuine contender, that appears to have flown right under the RADAR.

Anyone guess why Wycombe have suddenly become so attractive?

Agree that the wording of 'avoid relegation' isn't great and would much prefer 'establish League 1, better than last season' etc. I also think it could have an impact on attracting players, but you never know what he truly believes and what he is saying behind the scenes and to agents etc. He doesn't strike me as the type of bloke that wants to be in a relegation scrap.

The clubs coming up and down is an interesting one. I don't know the squads well enough but I Wrexham have released 13 players (including Tozer who was their captain) so will need a small rebuild. How many players will Birmingham and Huddersfield lose after being relegated and need a re build? Its not always as clear as money = instant success.
