Doomed trip from the start, far too short as they would have had three full days out there. Thank christ we ditched our plans in attending as they couldn’t decide whether they were going to play a game over there or not. Better organisation next year please Cobbs.

Having done both North Carolina and Seville - you really don't go with any expectation of seeing a proper game or indeed in a proper ground but none the less great trips particularly the US one where I even got a beer off Dozy Senior and witnessed a potentially violent stand off in a bar with Richard Hill and a local Red Neck.

Hence the reason we ditched our plans….they couldn’t decide if they were playing a game (proper or pretend) or not. We’ve been to Germany,USA, Ireland, Austria, Seville to name a few watching the Cobblers..the game/s are a side attraction, but nonetheless you need one to base your plans around.

I can’t help but feel that we are undercooked - we seem to be at least a game short and I don’t know if the aborted Spain trip has had an effect on fitness and sharpness. I’m clinging on to the hope that a poor pre season means a good start to the season but we are looking short.

Definitely feels like a bodged pre season schedule, which is strange considering we had plenty of time to prepare for a proper one...

Playing a match ready Norwich in our first pre season game especially bizarre!

By the sounds of yesterday, it seems Cheltenham were far sharper & tuned in then we were...

The whole point of pre season is getting fit & sharp for the first game but seems we are well off it & little chance of getting up to speed in time for Saturday...

Also, doesn't seem to be a preferred formation.

I think yesterday was his preferred formation JB has said foe the last couple of seasons he'd like 3 at the back kore often he's just never had the fit players to do it

Fast forward a couple of weeks and we have a two week break, interesting to see players electing to fly to America etc on holiday rather than putting in the extra miles on the training pitch.
