I thought Scotland were depressingly poor in their game with Germany. I could not see a player worth signing! In fact NTFC in good form might have done better.

Why are the Jocks claiming that Mctominay scored, when it was a massive own goal?

Because his shot was deemed to be 'on target' before the deflection.

They still haven't scored a goal as far as I am concerned.

it was only a goal due to the deflection, without which, it was an easy save for the keeper. definite own goal for me.

A few years ago, Younger Boy Bingers played in a tournament in Germany and was his team's top scorer with two own goals. Little did we realise at the time that he could have used it as a trial for the Scottish national team.

Watching Scotland is a bit like watching League 1 except I think Scotland would struggle to avoid the drop.

Yes I thought that as well. It's not their fault they didn't go through, they just don't have the players these days to compete at International level. It's a shame really when I think of some of the great players of the past, Leeds, Man U and Liverpool were chock full of Scottish players back in the 60's. I blame the introduction of foreign players into the Scottish game, how many Scots do Celtic and Rangers have these days?

England on Tuesday, they of course have no excuses.

Really ? Scotland teams of the past were so much better ? How come they have never got out of the group stage of any major tournament ? Past or present they have always been poor, to compare them to England is just pure stupidly.

Scotland have in the past had some great players, but if you dont gel properly as a team, then it is meaningless. A situation that England may very soon find themselves in if Southgate doesnt pull his finger out.
Greece proved that an average team can go a long way in 2004, which isnt that far back.

My thoughts;

1. They used to produce endless numbers of quality play making and defensively sound Midfielders.
2. Their record against England is far more impressive than you would expect.
3. They produced solid defenders and relatively impressive goal scorers.
4. They had a chronic problem with producing decent goalkeepers.

England's performances recently have been dismal.

Similar to watching England...snooze fest lacking pace and purpose.
Hopefully we spring to life for the knock out stages.

Agreed, ludicrous to give it to McTominay

They still had better players regardless of whether they got out of the group or not. Bremner, The Gray Brothers (Frank and Eddie), Lorimer, St John, Law, Joe Jordon, Gordon McQueen, Souness, Hanson, Gemmill, McKay, Baxter, Jimmy Johnson, just a few off the top of my head.

Some good players, but they couldn't assemble a team capable of getting out of the group stages of any major tournament.
How are the Scotish fans feeling after taking the p1ss out of England by singing about Maradona,  then being denied a penalty( rightly) by an Argentine referee, the irony.  Angry
