"Aaron McGowan tweaked his thigh, Next weekend at Brackley might be too soon for him."
Slightly paraphrased from Brady yesterday

It was said that Jack Sowerby would be ready near the end of pre season. Well we are there but still no news of his progress or likely return.

It certainly wouldn't come as a surprise.

Did JB elaborate on the situation with Eaves - I’ve seen that his absence was “precautionary” whatever that means?

Yes he did. "It will be some time unfortunately". I think that's how he put it or something similar. The club always put out things like "precautionary" and "taken a knock" and to be absolutely honest it's quite annoying. Why can't they just tell the truth about the injury situations because we always have 3 or 4 out at any particularly time in any case.

At the moment we have: Patrick Brough (hamstring), Jack Sowerby (health issue), Matt Dibley-Dias (illness) and Tom Eaves (foot?). Time frames all unknown, although Dibley-Dias should be short term (hopefully).

Completely agree about Brough, we really need to offload him ASAP.
As for Eaves I believe he’s going to be out for the foreseeable future, so we desperately need another striker, makes the decision to pass on Tyreece Simpson all the more stupid.

Heard Eves was in a protective boot on Saturday  Roll Eyes

What is it with us and marquee striker signings!

So, we'll perhaps now need another targetman as no idea when Eves will be back...

We'll probably just recall Dyche & play him up front!

It’s typical of our luck that the one player who is the most important for the new style that we are supposed to be playing this season is out for a while. It sounds like we need to hope that the 4/5 weeks is accurate as that would probably be a best case scenario, if it’s his foot and he’s in a protective boot then maybe he’s fractured something or done some ligament damage.

Play Josh Tomlinson up front. He is apparently a "great talent". He looked very decent as a 16 year old and he's beefed up a lot since then.
He's our player and if he makes an impact in the next couple of years (with us), we might make a few £ when he moves on.

Interesting idea and may be worth a try, after all he is our youngest ever goalscorer.
