I was told today Nolan wants a smaller squad next season which means having players who don't get injured every 2 minutes

Interesting. Will surely mean most of those out of contract like Sowerby will be gone. Also I wonder what will happen for the likes of Willis, Baldwin and Eaves and whether he will try and move them on too.

Sowerby won't stand a chance in staying as he will never have trained under Nolan that's a easy decision for him

He may be stuck with those under contract

As for Guthrie was told he might get 12 months as a club we line to do right by players and his injury record till now hasn't been to bad

Nolan needs to (& will be) ruthless this summer...

Don't forget the state of the squad he inherited which was only going one way until the inspired additions of Shaw, Taylor, Perry & Costelloe...

Love Guthrie but can't just be giving him a new 12 month contract when he probably won't be fit til Christmas!

All Nolans signings so far have been quality, so I'm sure recruitment is going to be based far more on quality, power, pace & robustness...

A proper professionally organised pre season programme will also help!

I’d keep Guthrie if it’s a club friendly deal as such.

Tom Eaves is a big problem. Please correct me if I’m wrong but I make it 7 injuries in 9 months now. Since Nolan has been here he’s been out injured with facial injury, then bruised ribs, then a thigh problem now something else.

A snowflake of a centre forward.

Joined with a big reputation under with a tag of a fans favourite that will give his all.

Get rid.

I voted for Guthrie in the Cobblers select XI.  I rated him very highly. That doesnt mean that I want to give him a contract for sentimental reasons though.
Given his age, and the nature of his injury, then its time to move on. And for what its worth, I dont think that Max Dyche is up to league one standard either.

Seems a sensible logic.

Can you share the statistics on the recovery time of his injury against age factor etc. so we can understand?

Signing Terry Taylor is an absolute must.
Him and Shaw in middle would be very reassuring

Absolute must in terms of being let go
Koiki- his injury record is so bad
Maglorie
Willis
Brough
Burge
Wilson
Willis
Dyche
Eaves

I wouldn't be so hasty to release Sowerby, he'd be good back up and I can imagine good senior pro to have around.

Would definitely be giving Guthrie a chance to get fit

Willis is so fragile he’s in there twice.
Eaves has another year on his contract

Willis is also contracted for next season as is Baldwin whose surprisingly wasn't on the list.

Does Lintotts contract expire this year?  If so that doesnt need renewing.
He has slipped under the radar a bit, since his loan to Sligo.

I think we’re already well stacked in the senior pro department with Hoskins, Eaves, Baldwin, Willis, McGeehan already contracted and Pinnock and McGowan likely to be offered new contracts. There’s no point having a backup who can’t be relied upon to be available through injuries, which have also left him a shadow of the player he was. Sowerby is also probably on decent wage. For me someone like Perry would be a far better option, likely cheaper, more reliable and from what I’ve seen better.

He’s an absolute joke. We need shot of him.

Marvo must have stats on how many injures he’s had this season!?

Hopefully Eaves gets fit close season but I did get pelters when comparing him to Hylton. Has he really been that much of an upgrade? I guess the notable +5 in the goals column and granted, he does put himself about a lot more.
Not sure what we are paying him for two years but there must be some valid comparisons.
Maybe he will make more of an impact in his second season, or at least improve his match day attendance.

A fit Eaves would be an asset for us, as he offers something different, even if its not for 90 minutes every game.

An Eaves with an injury plagued season like this one, is a liability.

If you are taking a punt on one of our injury prone players, Eaves is probably worth it over the likes of Willis, Sowerby as he can make more of a difference.

Of course, with all of them, it depends who their replacements are.

If there’s a chance to move Eaves on I would.
