Skill with Wilson and adding pace up front with Morton.

Great signing if he can re-capture his form when previously with us rather than his form since. Sometimes a player works out well at one club and not another, let's hope this is his club. Welcome back Callum!

Is it me, or is there a right racket coming from silent Sixfields?

Pleased with this. If he hits the form he can, he'll be a great addition.

He has had a bit of a nomadic time since leaving us but for that spell at the end of the Covid season he was unplayable. If he replicates that form then he is a definite upgrade on Appere. They both have tireless work rates but Morton just seemed much more of a goal threat and had a more direct style at times.
Interesting its a loan, but he is out of contract at the end of the season so hopefully if he does ok we can sign him up longer term. Hopefully his injury issues are in the past also. Still only 24 so can still turn his career around, i was certain after he left us he would be a proven goalscorer in L1 level.
So we have the hylton replacement in Wilson, the Appere replacement in Morton. We need a Bowie replacement, more of a physical presence now.
Welcome back Callum!

Strange how we all see a loan signing from Salford as a good signing.
Assuming he hits the same goal form as when he was here last, then it will be a good signing.
if not, then it wont.

Well yes. Isnt that the same for any signing? If they do well its a good thing, If they dont its not?

Not on here, most people make their mind up before a ball is kicked - we all thought Hylton was an amazing signing!

In this instance it is because we know how good he was when he was with us before, so it does seem a good signing on that basis. As with any signing time will tell but let's be positive.

So we have the hylton replacement in Wilson, the Appere replacement in Morton. We need a Bowie replacement, more of a physical presence now.
I reckon an upgrade on Simpson needed...more of a 'lump'. I think it is an insult to refer to anyone as a Hylton replacement. My nan could be a Hylton replacement and she died in 1986.

Wilson is in no way a hylton replacement Hylton was a marquee signing who was in demand and rightfully commanded a decent signing package at the time Wilson is an ex league two player who hadn’t garnered interest from elsewhere (at least not reported anywhere) and we’ve given him a chance. I’m not saying he won’t be any good as I’ve no idea how he will play but I’d be slightly perturbed if our best strikers were a released league two striker and a loan league two striker who has lost his form and needs to find his feet again. I’d expect a couple more strikers in the door. One a marquee signing proven at this level or above and a loan signing from the higher divisions. Time will tell…. Il call it Bowie on a permanent deal as offers from elsewhere haven’t materialised… Just an opinion no inside knowledge

He's probably not coming, he did say he wouldn't miss the town as it was a s***hole (can't really argue even if it is our s***hole). I think he also said his gf didn't like it here.
