They just look a yard quicker all over the pitch, what’s worrying is that’s probably our first choice keeper and back four, Hoskins looks horrendous.

Heavens alive. What did you expect from the game out of interest?

I see that Springett played the 2nd half for Norwich, how did he do?

There's no doubt it was men against boys in the first half, we were way off the pace. It was a bit better in the second half, mainly I suspect because Norwich played a bunch of fringe players.

I'm not sure what Brady would have got from the game to be honest with six of our players not playing in the only pre season home friendly and six trialists replacing them, to play 5 in one team seems bizarre to me. I was disappointed not to see McGeehan, Wilson or Eaves.

I thought No 47 was the best of the trialists especially going forward where he looked lively, until he seemed to get starved of the ball, not sure about his defending though, I assume he was playing left wing back. No 44 looked ok at the back, and the right winger looked quite fast, No 48 tried hard enough and No 43 didn't see a lot of the ball, similar No 45 in the first half. I would need to see more of Dobson and Wyatt before making an opinion.

Good to see Tyler get 45 minutes and he didn't look too bad at all to me, Baldwin played in midfield I assume he will be a CB in the league.

It's important to remember we were playing Norwich a team I expect to be pushing for promotion to the Prem next season.

If he was the lad on the left wing he did ok.

What time do you call this? Good job it is only pre-season. Try and sort it out by the time the season starts. Perhaps we need trialist C to take over.
That took some finding mate. It eventually came via a Norwich journalist!
Anyway, hows France? Are you sitting in a little cafe owned by Renee, with two saucy waitresses serving you? Is a cheeky little onion seller cycling past?

Left-Back was Ex-Stoke and Leeds Man Liam McCarron.

I think he's still at Stoke. Possible loan?? I see he can play as a winger or left back.

In the last year of his contract (June 2025). He is one of the players thought to be leaving before the August deadline, either permanently or on loan.

Congratulations! You've started the Hoskins bashing even earlier than usual this year. And this wasn't even your first anti-Hoskins comment of the afternoon. Still, if we're not on top form in our first pre-season friendly against a strong Championship club we should really be worried, right.  Roll Eyes

Took an Aussie to his first Cobblers game today. I did warn him that I haven't seen us score a goal in over 10 years! (Don't worry, I'll head back to Perth before the season starts...)

47 looked great, sign him up!

Good to see that Stuart Burt, eight days after officiating in the Euro quarter finals, he's back running the line at Sixfields

Good to hear from you bro. It has been too long. See you keep your cards flush still. Bet you miss Opus 2. Those nights were hot hot hot.

Good to be back a Sixfields and meet up with some of the guys. Thought we looked second best by a distance in the 1st half, Koiki out of position several times, Odimayo asleep for the first, misplaced passes from Hoskins and Morton whilst he has bulked up seems to be a lot slower and never really got in the game. 2nd half we were better and as has already been mentioned Trialist 47 was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch. Spoke with a fellow supported who seemed to be well informed, cited that McGowan was off to Tranmere and also Wrexham looking at Guthrie. Disappointed not to see Eaves, Wilson or McGeehan on the pitch, again was told that a couple of them had picked up 'knocks', we shall see.
