The last lap of the mountain bike race was an absolute cracker. The great Tom Pidcock had been leading, but got a puncture and having changed his wheel and dropped down the field by about 30 seconds came back to challenge for the lead. The lead alternated several times between himself and the local favourite and then he pulled out a sneaky tactical move that meant he could pull into the lead again, very nearly at the end which ensured him victory. Well worth a watch.

I’m loving the men v women boxing.
The problem with this one is that she was born a woman with all of the womenly parts, which appears to get omitted from the headlines...  |

Except there isn't any. If she was a transgendered person - she'd have been long imprisoned under Algerian law. |

Yeah, it was a lazy flippant quip. I'm as liberal as they come. Although not transgender there is an ongoing debate to be had in sport, especially one reliant on power. I'm waiting for Ivana Toney to top the scoring charts in the WSL. |

It's a bit like Caster Semenya - they haven't made a choice to change gender but a one-in-God-knows-how-many genetic hiccup has left her with indeterminate gender. Is it fair to stop her competing because that quirk gives her an unfair advantage? It probably isn't, but you could argue that she should be prevented from competing in the interests of keeping it fair for everyone else |
