Lincoln and Stockport away are clearly a different proposition to playing Crawley at home so it will be interesting to see how JB approaches the game as I think Lincoln will pose more of a threat than Stockport did. Will he play his flair players or adopt the more conservative approach as per Stockport? I think he may keep Roberts up front instead of Eaves but I would not be surprised if he brings back Hoskins for his work rate in closing down and getting back to provide cover in front of the full back. Sowerby may also return and JB could again introduce subs early in the second half.

It remains to be seen if Sam Purkiss is still our referee after being replaced in the first half at Charlton on Saturday where only 1 of the 7 yellow cards was issued by him. So far in 8 and a bit games he has issued 40 yellows, 1 red and awarded 4 penalties. Our previous games with him in charge have not ended well, February 2024 a 1-4 loss at Portsmouth and November 2023 a 2-3 loss at MK in the EFL Trophy.

My records show Lincoln with 17 wins to our 16 but as GPC says the predominant result has been the draw with 26 games ending level (44%). Despite only winning 4 of the 30 games at Lincoln our record is quite good as we have 13 draws and 13 defeats so we have left with points from over half of our visits. Including their surprising 0-3 defeat last week at Crawley Lincoln have conceded 7 goals in their last 3 games.

Other than drawing 0-0 with Wigan in all of the other 5 Lincoln home games both teams have scored, also after drawing a blank at Bristol Rovers we have since scored 7 goals in our other 4 away games. With this in mind I am going for another 1-1 draw to extend our unbeaten run.

I don't have anything to add to the stats.
But what I will say is.
I put Lincoln in that list of teams that are not our traditional rivals, but I dislike.

Lincoln
Crawley
Mansfield
Barnet
Poxford
Stockport
Stevenage

Was October last year, played 4 lost 4, Shrewsbury, Bolton, Bristol Rovers and Derby.

We've played 16 away league games this calendar year and won three!

It's something that gone under the radar I think, the poor away form. Or at least something I've not really noticed, cause we come up with results like Huddersfield.

Ollie Yates has replaced Sam Purkiss in the middle, who was involved in a collision with a Wrexham player on Saturday.

Ollie Yates has replaced Sam Purkiss in the middle, who was involved in a collision with a Wrexham player on Saturday.

Fresh from booking seven players on Saturday in the Bolton v Pish game, Mr Yates has flashed 28 yellows in six games so far this season, thats after 165 yellows and seven reds in 38 games last season.

We saw him three times last campaign..... in the end of season draw at Barnsley, the 2-0 defeat at Wycombe six weeks earlier, and in the aforementioned Sixfields encounter between ourselves and Lincoln early on last season. He was also the ref who sent off Ben Fox in our goalless draw at Leyton Orient in October 2022. That was Yates' only red card that season in 35 matches.

Neither of them will be cup tied as they've been with us all season. It's up to the parent club to allow them to play and I can't imagine either of their clubs objecting.

I am good friends with a member of their fitness/Physio team so I have been commenting on how unfit and labored they looked against the mighty Cobblers ladies Cheesy

Maybe in this game, he'll send a Lincoln player off for winning the ball with the offended player a step away from the tackle. I was less than 10 yards away from the Fox incident and couldn't believe it when I saw the card come out of Yates's pocket.
