I think we have assembled a very good squad.
What we need is a clear run of injury free games so we can enjoy the recruitment.

I suggest:

                 Burge

McGowan Willis Guthrie Mbete

       Sowerby Chouchane

                 McGeehan

         Fosu Eaves Roberts

Subs: including Hoskins Pinnock Morton McCarron Dibley-Dias

Potentially an exciting attacking unit.

I’d say that McGeehan is more likely to make way for Roberts than Pinnock - Pinnock’s undroppable for some reason.

That is not a bad team selection, just a couple of points:-
1. I doubt that the we would see the 5 subs mentioned because when you add the GK it only leaves room 1 defender.
2. At the moment I am still not convinced that Burge is our best GK. The shot he spilled in the second half could have cost us the game if Orsi had not been flagged offside and somehow shot wide from 3 yards in front of goal. There was an instance in the first half when he came to the edge of his and dithered but our defender managed to clear the danger and his kicking leaves a lot to be desired. I wouldn't mind Tzanev being given a chance.

Unlike many seasons when the first eleven almost picks itself this year we look to have real strength in depth. So in terms of a ‘best XI’ I’m not even sure it will ever be that simple and can see Brady rotating depending on opponents and where the game is. I can also see a few surprises and it not just being a case of the highest profile places in each position, depending on how individuals fit into the chosen way we play. I have a sneaky feeling that McCaron could do well and am not convinced Eaves is guaranteed to be the solution as lone striker that most seem convinced is a certainty.

Potentially a very exciting X1. It’s just a shame that so many
are injury prone: Willis, Sowerby, Fosu, Eaves (?).

I think the front three will be very fluid with lots of different
combinations throughout the season due to form and fitness.
Eaves has clearly be brought in to be first choice centre forward/9
but Morton could challenge him and Roberts might end up
playing through the middle at times. It should all lead to good
competition for places and some genuine game-changing options
off the bench.

Sowerby’s fitness is key IMO.

I agree that we have a strong squad this year, if we can stay relatively injury free

Assuming everyone is fit, this is the side I'd like to see:

Burge or Tzanev (don't think one really stands out)

McGowan   Magloire   Guthrie   Mbete

Hoskins Sowerby  Chouchane

McGeehan

Eaves    Morton

Bench: Burge or Tzanez, Baldwin, Brough, Hondermarck, Pinnock, Roberts, Fosu

That leaves no place for a number of players, most of whom we already know can do a job for us: Willis, Martin, Koiki, Odimayo, Dibley-Dias, Fox and Lintott

I dont think that Fulham will be too impressed, if Dibley-Dias doesnt feature in the first X1 very often.

With the size of the squad there is likely to be a lot of unimpressed people.

I think Morton is going to be autocorrected to Martin a lot in posts!

I’m more than happy to drive him back down there if needed.

I am guilty of thinking the same about players in the past, but I at least gave them a chance before berating them.

I think this is factually our strongest 11 and I am very excited for it.
